We have cats, we have kittens. Beautiful felines just like JC. Our big orange tabby is sassy and sweet. He loves to wander around the cat room, stopping to say hi at other cat kennels.
VVHS is open every day from 11-4 and no appointment is needed to visit our felines.

This little gal is getting spayed next week but is ready to meet potential adopters now. Firecracker is a gorgeous doll who looks like she'll weigh around 60lbs full grown. She has beautiful markings that remind us of a Catahoula Leopard Dog. Firecracker is looking for adopters who will match her energy level and provide plenty of attention and exercise.

This flashy gal is a dream. Aurora likes her walks but doesn't require marathon length treks. She has nice leash manners and will be great for both exploring the neighborhood or forest. She enjoys hanging out, talking husky-style and is open to meeting polite doggies.
Aurora is tolerant of a good brush out and has a habit of leaning into her people. She weighs around 55 lbs and looks to be 7 years old or so.

This sassy pants loves to chase a ball. She's not great at bringing it back so it's always best to have extras on hand. Skylar is shy with strangers and loves a good cuddle when she begins to trust. She's looking for patient adopters without children (due to Skylar's lack of initial trust), who will be patient with her shyness and allow her time to settle in at her own pace. And of course, throw balls for her.

Our incredible dog walkers work hard, usually 2-4 hours when they are at the shelter. That's a lot of wear and tear on their slip leashes. These leashes are subjected to rain, sun, water, the occasional doggie tooth, being stepped on when dropped, and, just like our socks in the laundry, mysterious disappearances.
It's time to restock and we're hoping you can help. Slip leashes can be bought at most pet stores, Ace Hardware, and on-line at Amazon.com and Chewy.com.

This guy is such a sweetie, he charms everyone he meets. Cheetah weighs around 60 lbs and will make a great companion. He loves his walks and has done very well with the dogs he has met at the shelter. Cheetah would enjoy a yard in which to play and romp. Hikes would be fantastic too.

Hannah has had a tough life but all that changed when she was fostered by her now forever family.
Hannah's history is rough. Physical abuse caught on video tape, multiple owners, abandonment. Shelters and rescues deal everyday with the results of trauma humans inflict on animals in their care.
Hannah's new mom is a reminder to us all that good exists and far outweighs the bad.

Super sweetie with 3 legs looking for a home where she will receive plenty of attention and affection. Gypsy likes being with her people, she's been friendly with other dogs she has met and thinks it would be great to have a little of both. Of course, she would be perfectly happy hogging all of the attention as an only dog too.
Gypsy gets along fine with 3 legs. She can hop onto a couch for snuggling and keep up on medium length walks.
