This happy girl is Chelsea!

Chelsea is a 1-year-old Catahoula mix that loves to explore, play, and meet new people. She enjoys going to group to burn off energy with other dogs here at MHS. Her surprise talent is that she is a great climber, so fences don't stand a chance around this girl. Due to this, she will need supervision when outside to make sure she isn't going on solo adventures!

This sweet girl is Carmela,

Carmela is a 1y old spayed female, Cattle Dog Mix. Carmela has come out of her shell since coming to us and loves to get her time outside and go to playgroup to run and chase with the other dogs. Carmela would love a home that continue to work on her manners and basic obedience.

Anu is a 1-year-old Catahoula mix with a quiet, shy nature to start and an affectionate, sweet personality that blossoms when she warms up... which doesn't take long! This box of puppies was just brought to us after being found abandoned at a nearby gas station. Besides needing a really good bath (which they are currently getting!) they seem to be in good spirits. They will receive needed medical evaluation and care over the next few days and are not currently available for adoption. We will post updates when they are ready to find a loving home to call their own! Cases like this are unfortunately not rare. Every day, our team at MHS works to help animals like this in need, but we can’t do it without your support. Together, we can make a difference 🐾

Show off Saturday! Don't let Bruizer's age fool you! At 8 years old, this handsome American Bulldog mix knows many tricks and is so excited to learn more! Bruizer lived in a home with children previously, but he would prefer to live without children under the age of 12. Meet Bruizer and his other adoptable friends today until 5 pm!

We just don't understand why Loki hasn't been adopted. Loki is a staff and volunteer favorite, a helper dog for playgroup (meaning he helps with dog intros and introducing new dogs to group), and an overall goodest boy. Loki is a 7 yr old neutered male Akita mix, and he has called Midlands home for more than 140 days. Loki loves other dogs, toys, and treats, and he prefers children who are a bit older. Loki can be a bit aloof when meeting new people, but he is quick to warm up and start playing. Loki would love a forever family, endless love, and a comfy bed to call his own. Does this count as ASMR? Loki, a 7 year old male Akita mix thinks so. This big boy has been waiting to be adopted since early June and we just know he’ll be the perfect pet for the right family.

Sometimes when you ask a dog to sit, they decide to dance instead! Herman is a 4 year old party animal ready to find a place to call home.

Stormy came to MHS on Monday with a very severe injury on his front leg. Even in his condition, it didn’t stop him from being a happy, affectionate boy. He is recovering well from his successful amputation surgery and is ready to find a home where he can be spoiled rotten like he deserves! A huge thank you to everyone who donated towards his care and pets like him who come to MHS. We are so appreciative for your support and generosity in helping animals in need!
