Remembering some of the 2023 rescues! Kathy and her volunteers helped provide everything these dogs needed - for at least two weeks to months. All of these dogs had significant behavior improvements in our care to help make their adoptions a success. All these dogs have been fully vetted and any health concerns corrected. All these dogs are very happy in their homes - and for some reason there is any issue - Kathy and her team are right there to help. Please consider going to our GoFundMe and donating for 2024 future dogs in need. https://gofund.me/059cea80
Time to train my own dog! She is 5.5 months and 55 lbs - going on 120 lbs- she needs to be ready to stand still for a real groomer. So I need to start hitting the self wash and working with her so that this is a fun time for her. Well I’m proud, she did good! The self wash at Hollywood Feed worked really well - and I still “got it” after 20 years of owning a grooming shop. Echo your beautiful!!

So many people have asked me what “shut down” means when talking about rescues. Here is a shihtzu Sugar Cube who just came in. She was a breeding female - and had not been exposed to much in her life other than having pups.
Echo, my Leonberger pup, is definately an employee of Bark from the Heart. She gets all the dogs to play, so sweet! All the dogs shown here are just under a year d and Echo is almost 5 months. Also shown are Enzo the Ridgeback, Cleo the Golden and Rocco the St.Bernard. Now this is a great puppy playgroup.
Are you out walking your dog in La Grange? What is your favorite site to walk by? Mine is this awesome gardening - both butterfly garden and vegetables at the First Presbyterian Church. Kudos whoever is behind this project! And the dogs are Finn and Lulu - they love a good sniff.
We have mentioned that Mya is getting our 200 % effort on training. Mya spent alt of her first year in a cage. And due to cancer the owner couldn’t train her. So after all the love that Mya shared with the owner we thought she deserved training. She always has been a happy, nice dog, she just needed to control her exhuberance and have some manners. So take a look at this video, this is what can happen with great training. Mya wanted leadership and direction, she is a new dog! After this video if you’d like to meet her please text Kathy at 708-542-8969.
The goal is always loose leash walking! Even when they don’t like to be pet. Haha.
Finn’s first ride on the swing. He did awesome. Soon I’ll be able to do the around the world!!
Floss the Border Collie still needs a home. Still needs a look. This dog is a perfect companion for someone home alone and needs a buddy every day. That’s what border collies are - reliable and all smiles! Text or call Kathy at 708-542-8969
Floos the Border Collie loves fetch!
This is Floss, a border collie. I would love to find a home with a fence and experience with a herding breed. No kids please, he thinks they are sheep. He could be someone’s agility dog or trick dog. He also can walk forever without pulling and would love to go for a run. Call or text Kathy if you want to learn more 708-542-8969.
Working on a Bichon that’s pretty much shut down. This is Emma. She has been a breeding dog for 10 years. She loves other dogs, but doesn’t quite know what people are. She will! We will rotate our volunteer team on her and she will meet a lot of great, loving people. I’ll show you her progress down the road. For now, happy napping.
Tex and Salem
I have tried to teach Tex that you don’t jump into bed on the first date - but maybe it’s love at first sight. This is Salem and Tex, Tex may have found his furever home!
