We’ve started a page for Eli’s son Aurtfully Bold! He is one of the kindest young stallions I’ve ever met, with beautiful movement and correct conformation. We’re looking forward to his SHIH debut in 2024, as well as his first foals. His stud book will be open to a few high quality outside mares, and inquiries are welcome. He is already making his father proud!

Did you miss out on the opportunity to breed to Aur Elijah before he was gone? Two of his full sisters are reluctantly available. Will consider sale or a breeding lease to the exact right home. Both mares would add substance, height, temperament, and excellent genetics to any breeding program.

I learned of them last year after we lost Eli, and only intended to buy one. However, when I visited them I quickly realized I needed to get them all out of the situation they were in. When I picked them up last year they were completely unhandled, though sweet and eager to connect. In the past 9 months they have learned the basics of leading, tying, lunging, and groundwork. They are also now fully up to date on veterinary and hoof care. They will need time to settle in to a new home before breeding and will need to be with someone who is able to continue their training. Both could be started under saddle, and Rose in particular would make an excellent endurance prospect.

Nasika Sussex Rose is a 15.2h 2008 maiden mare who looks so much like Eli. She is sweet and smart, and loves attention. She is sensitive and will need someone who wants to continue her training with patient consistency. She is completely sound and a beautiful mover - start her under saddle or breed your next endurance superstar. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/nasika+sussex+rose

Nasika Mama Mia is a 15.2h 2007 maiden mare. She is big bodied and athletic, with spectacular movement. She is smart and kind with a thinking brain. Though she was the wariest of humans when she first arrived, she has been the easiest to train. With more time and training she is kind and gentle enough to be a kid’s horse. Her feet were in the worst shape of the sisters, and she will need to continue to stay on a tight trimming schedule until the hoof capsule has completely regrown. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/nasika+mama+mia

It is bittersweet to introduce Eli’s final foal crop, especially given the quality of his 2023 foals. We were blessed with 3 purebreds - two lovely fillies and one gorgeous stallion prospect c**t. We also have two beautiful half-Arabian fillies - one Anglo-Arabian and one Hispano-Arabe. Eli’s legacy lives on in these new lives, and we’re so excited for their futures!

We’re so grateful to see Eli’s presence shining so clearly through his 2022 c**t. He will be one to follow!

It is with deep sadness and shock that we share news of Eli’s sudden and unexpected passing last night. We are devastated to lose such a special stallion at only 20 years old. He touched many lives profoundly over the years, and his loss will be felt far and wide. Eli lived a rich life that many stallions never get to experience, and his last 6 months of life were full of adventure and new experiences. He will live on through his offspring, and we are fortunate to be looking forward to several high quality foals to continue his legacy in 2023. Rest In Peace, beautiful boy. You were one of the greats.

“In his liquid eye is the blackness of the desert night, strewn with flickering campfires.

His two ears, pinnacles on an ivory mosque, are formed in graceful symmetry.
The cavernous nostrils convert [sea] breeze into hot desert wind.

His voice can be a trumpeted call to war, or a soft, meandering tune of mystery.
The whole quicksilver image of him shimmers like heat waves over scorching dunes.

He is molded of morning mist and rifle smoke -
Of soft, cold ashes and boiling clouds.
He hallows the earth where he stands.
He is mine and I am his.

But I know the Prophet’s Thumb cannot save him: it has no power [here].
When he is gone, the tapestry of my life will be torn - a void shall exist -
Where once an awkward baby,
A willing companion,
A faithful friend.”

Region V Championship recap: Sometimes things don’t go quite according to plan, and that’s ok! We had a couple of costly mistakes that prevented us from placing, but I’m still incredibly proud of him, and here’s why:

1. We scored lots of 7s and 8s on our test, and even with several costly mistakes our overall score was a 63.9% at 1st level 3. He was tired and broke at the canter going left several times, but if we’d scored comparably to our right lead canter work, he’d have scored 68.8% and would have placed.
2. He’s 20, and has only been back in work for 5 months after 4 years off. Older bodies don’t regain strength quite as easily, but he tried SO hard for me. He has the heart of a lion.
3. He’s only had 8 cumulative months of professional dressage training in his entire life, and the first 3 months of that was a decade ago. In the last 5 months he’s not only regained basic fitness, but is competing a level above where he was when we started, against much younger horses who have been in consistent training since they were started under saddle.
4. He was an absolute gentleman the whole weekend. Our one distracted stallion moment was (of course) right before we entered the arena for our first test, and I was never able to fully regain his focus. But he once again handled a busy show environment with grace and dignity, and if you didn’t know he was a stallion he certainly didn’t give it away by his behavior.

So could it have gone better? Certainly. But did it still showcase his talent and temperament? Absolutely. Safe to say I adore this boy, and I could not be more proud of how far he’s come since February. Not many 20 year old stallions could come back into work after sitting in a paddock for years and make it to Regional Championships in 5 months.

“When God created the horse he said to the magnificent creature: I have made thee as no other. All the treasures of the earth lie between thy eyes. Thou shalt carry my friends upon thy back. Thy saddle shall be the seat of prayers to me. And thou fly without wings, and conquer without sword.”

Beach day with Eli’s grandson Kheeli and friends! It is such a joy to have a stallion who can go everywhere and do anything. This was his first beach ride, and we were galloping through the water and sailing over driftwood like it was no big deal. 12 miles and change and he was as eager to keep going at the end as he was when we started. Proof that breeding matters. Definitely need to do at least a 30 mile LD with him before the season is over. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/aur+elijah

We are so excited for this 2023 foal! This is exactly the type of pairing we were hoping for when we began promoting Eli in earnest this year. He’s produced many lovely HA foals, and will have more coming in 2023. However, he doesn’t have nearly as many purebred foals as we’d like to see, especially for a stallion with his bloodlines, temperament, substance, and movement. His stud book will remain open through the summer, so if you have been on the fence about breeding your quality purebred mare, now is the time!

We had to swim through parts of our tests today, but Eli was so good this weekend! Even though we placed 4th in both our SHIH classes, we were less than 3 points from the first place winner. We qualified for Regional Championships in both our dressage tests, and placed 3rd out of 10 in Training 3. Not bad for a 20 year old stallion who has only been back in work for 4 months AND only has 2 rated shows under his belt. He was a perfect gentleman all weekend, and I couldn’t be prouder of him!

Can we take a moment to appreciate how well mannered Eli is? We had a last minute collection request, and already had mares scheduled to be scanned. There was nothing to be done but load everyone up and trust him to be a gentleman. He did not disappoint! And even better, we have our first confirmed pregnancy of the year 🥳
