Welcime Rigley! Rigley is a 1.5 year old female pug weighing in at 19lbs. She was an owner surrender due to her owners work schedule change. This beauty is a sweet and friendly girl and is good with humans of all ages. She does have a little spitfire in her. She is great with other dogs but has not been around cats. Can be very playful with other playful dogs or respect those who just want to relax and nap all day. Rigley loves to nap on laps or shoulders, is great on walks ( she has a cute little wiggle to her walk) and is potty/pad trained, but you have to show her where to go outside consistently until she goes on her own. This cutie is crate trained, but for bedtime, she prefers to sleep right next to her human. She is up to date on vaccines and microchipped, but due for her spay surgery soon. Once she has had her surgery, she will be ready for her forever home and family.
Max is an approximately 2-year-old, neutered male. He weighs in at about 45 pounds and is long and tall. Max loves to cuddle and give kisses. He’s a family-friendly pet who loves to be the center of attention. He enjoys long walks, playing with his toys, and the company of other dogs. He would also be okay with being the only dog in the house, provided he gets lots of love and attention. While being in his foster family’s care, he has learned basic commands. He knows how to go potty outside as well as on potty pads, but is still a little rough around the edges. He could easily be trained to use a doggie door. He is very treat and attention motivated and is easy to train overall.
Max has lots of energy and is still working on eliminating his desire to jump on humans. He just needs consistent and firm reinforcement. His foster family includes small and large children, both of which he does well with, but would do better with older children. Max is a dog requiring supervision if he’s around smaller children. Although very friendly, sometimes he forgets his size when playing with toys and young children. His favorite game to play with other dogs and humans alike is, “tug of war,” and he is quite good at it!
Max is a fun-loving, empathetic, and cheeky younger dog, with many years left to love and play. He requires a person or family with lots of love to give, time for walks, and firm & positive training reinforcements. If he’s exercised, he can be left alone during the day for his person/family to work and return home. In his foster home, he has been left alone with his other dogs for the duration of a workday. He is a happy camper playing with his friends and getting his regular walks. If you are interested in adopting or fostering Max, please contact us at [email protected] or call us at 951-708-0626.

Welcome Harley. This beauty came to us as an owner surrender since the family did not want her any longer. They described her as a 1-year-old Yorkie/Jack Russell mix. She is the size of a Jack Russell but has the coloring and fur of a Yorkie. When we got her, she was a little shy with us and the dogs, but got comfortable quickly.
This sweetie is good with people and can get attached to one person. She can get anxious if her person is not around, but once she sees them and says hello, she is fine. Harley loves belly rubs and sitting on laps to take naps. On walks, she can pull a little since she is excited to be out and about but will slow when corrected. If there are any barky dogs on the walk, she will bark back at them. With other dogs, she is good with calm, friendly, playful dogs. She and her foster puppy mate can play all day. She loves to eat her food but does not like dog treats. For potty time, she will go outside but may have accidents if not shown where to go. Harley is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and chipped. If you would like to know more about Harley, contact us at [email protected].
Meet Shiloh. He came to us as an owner surrender as they could not keep him.
We believe he was born around July 10th, 2023, and we think he is a Beagle mix. I guess you can tell what the mix is with those ears. He is now at 10 lbs and looks like he will grow a little more.
This little guy is a smart, rambunctious little puppy. He has that puppy energy and wants to play all the time if allowed. He knows to sit and stay, although can’t hold it for long yet and is learning to give paw. Shiloh is crate trained and will sleep all night long in it or take naps throughout the day. He is eating 3 times a day still and loves it. He has had his 2nd set of shots and is due for the 3rd set as well as his neuter surgery and microchip soon. Although not ready to be adopted, we are open to foster-to-adopt. If you are interested and want to learn more, please contact us at [email protected].
Welcome Bernie! Bernie is an 8-year-old, we think, Westie mix. Bernie was at the shelter in the Medical Building. When we went to meet her in the outside enclosure, Bernie immediately slid to the grass, belly up, and wanted belly rubs. It was heartbreaking to see her condition. She had a cone on because she had been chewing her tail until it bled. Then we got Bernie’s back story. She is an owner surrender. The person who dropped her off at the shelter said that they “could not take care of her anymore.” Sadly, it looked like she was likely (over)used for breeding. The little fur that she did have along her back was overgrown. Her skin felt like that of a lizard. It was rough and flaking, and it was hot. Luckily her foster was not intimidated by her condition and immediately just wanted to give her lovies. She definitely wanted them!
We took her to the vet who did a scrape test and blood test to rule out a fungal infection or ringworm. She started antibiotics in the meantime. The tests came back negative for ringworm. With that information, her fantastic foster began to administer her daily medicine and twice-weekly medicated baths.
After more vet visits, we believe she has a condition called Westie Armadillo Syndrome (aka epidermal dysplasia). This abnormal skin growth results in itchy, inflamed and thickened skin that can cause skin folds in various areas of the body caused by an overgrowth of the naturally occurring yeast Malassezia. You can see that her condition WAS pretty severe. There is a long list of symptoms and Berni had all of them. Recovery depends on length of time with the condition and age. We don’t know how long Bernie has been suffering with this condition to know what her prognosis is. She is currently on an anti-fungal medication. Her foster is doing twice-per-week medicated shampoos with an antifungal shampoo.
Bernie is doing better with the care of her foster, for which we are incredibly grateful. The

Poe is looking for his forever home.
Roma was rescued from IVHS where she came in as a stray. She was very matted and sick. When we first saw her, she was in the medical section, all curled up, recovering from dental cleaning/extraction and kennel cough. Her ID card stated she was 17 years old. But, when we got her out, her records stated she was a 12-year-old terrier mix. We figured she is between 12-15 years old and has some poodle in her. Her records also showed she had other health issues; a heart murmur grade 2, skin infection, being treated with antibiotics, and severe dental tartar, before the dental and extractions. She only has most of her lower left side teeth. Roma was very malnourished to the point you could see her bones and was deemed anemic. The shelter took very good care of her, giving her meds, taking radiographs and bloodwork. With all this information, we took her to our vet to get her rechecked. They did additional bloodwork to try to figure out her anemia and malnourishment but could not really pinpoint it. Her kidney and liver levels were a bit high but not the cause. They even looked for parasites, but none were found. We figured her age, bad diet, dental infection, and bad owners was the cause.
We continued with antibiotics for her skin and put her on special food for her kidney and liver, adding supplements, feeding her 3 times a day. We soon found out this little lady loves to eat! She eats everything and mostly anything put in her bowl and will gladly finish off the food left on any bowl. We also found out she protects her food and treats very closely, growling and snapping at any dog that gets near them. We are working on that! We are happy to say she is gaining weight at a regular pace, her fur is growing in and her dental has healed fine. She is a feisty little girl who loves to go on walks, claim her place next to her human to cuddle and sleep, tap your legs to let you know you are too slow serving her food, and not afraid of bigger dogs than her. Roma is fostered
Welcome, Fiona! Fiona is a DSH tabby kitten that was found at a parking lot with her brother, who unfortunately did not survive. There was no mom in sight, so her foster took her in. We believe she was born in May 2023. She has that kitten energy and is playful and friendly. Little girl is fostered with other cats and gets along fine with them. She is also fostered with dogs but does not interact with them right now.
She is eating well and knows how to use the litter box fine. She has had her 2nd set of vaccines. Fiona is still due for her last set of vaccines, spay surgery, and microchip.
If you think she is a cutie and interested in fostering to adopt, email us at [email protected] and we will send you the adoption process.
Pumpkin is a female, 9-month old, female domestic ready to find her forever home. She was the smallest of her sibling and the shy one of the bunch. She spends her time hiding but once she is comfortable with you she loves being pet and will cuddle up for a nap. Pumpkin is a vocal kitty that meows and purrs to let you know she is happy.
Contact us at 951-708-0626 or email us at [email protected] if you are interested in bringing Pumpkin home.

Welcome Betsy and her Presidential Pups! Betsy and pups were surrendered when the family who had her could no longer care for them. Betsy is a 3 year old, long hair chihuahua mix, and all the puppies are 12 weeks old male lh chihuahua/pug mixes. Betsy is very sweet and loves attention. She will bark, but then quiets down and wants to sit on your lap. Washington is the biggest puppy and looks like his mom and is a bit of a momma’s boy. Lincoln is the smallest and most vocal; he will talk to you if you address him. He is a little spitfire. The twins are Jefferson and Quincy. Jefferson is the next smallest and Quincy has longer legs. They are all very playful and social.
We are looking for foster-to-adopt families. If you are interested in bringing one or two adorable puppies or a sweet and loving 3 year old beauty into your home, please contact us at [email protected] or call us at 951-708-0626 for more details about our foster-to-adopt program.

Congratulations!
Bob was found wandering the busy streets, dirty and underweight. This happy, friendly little guy found his new Mom and fur brother. He now has a playmate who he gets to run around with and share cuddles with his Mom.
Tux found abandoned on the streets. He was unsocialized, and had separation anxiety after getting attached quickly to his caregiver. Tux was adopted into a family that, with patience and training, has worked on his issues, allowing him to be a happy, playful dog. He loves spending time with his family, going on daily walks and playing with his toys. Sounds like a great life!
Frannie was being overlooked at the shelter, not getting a lot of interest. She turned out to be a very friendly dog with a lot of playful energy. We are happy that Frannie found her new family who love her playfulness and happy go lucky attitude.
Ramen and Opal, two of our senior pups, were adopted by one of our previous foster family, who wanted to adopt seniors because they know how their chances at adoption are much lower at their age. Ramen, at 15 years old and blind, was at the shelter after his owner died. He had cataract surgery, developed a hernia and then 6 herniated discs but recovered from both and is pretty healthy for his age. Opal, at 10 yrs old was at the shelter as a stray. She had several health issues and went through 2 ears surgeries, a bad ear infection after surgery, removal of her last two teeth, spay surgery and a polyp removal from her lady area. Despite all that she always stayed spunky and tough as nails. They are both happy, healthy, and well cared for with their new family. We are very happy that they are in great hands and living the happy life they deserve in their senior years.
Violet was at the shelter, extremely fearful, underweight, missing fur and on the verge of getting pneumonia. Violet recovered and with foster care learned to trust and be a normal dog, welcoming people more and more. One of those people who sh

Sweet Birdie found herself at the shelter as a stray. Tiny Birdie has a big personality and she lets you know it. Birdie was adopted by a wonderful family and has a couple of fur brothers who she likes to boss around. She is very much loved and her family is so happy to have her in their home.
Rosalie, now Oddrey, is a sweet little dog who has had some bad luck. She was really skittish and had a deformity in her leg from an old injury. Adopted twice and returned because once because of illness in the family and then because the family could no longer care for her, Rosalie needed a special home to take care of the special lady. She has found the perfect family who loves dogs with quirks. Her new family has helped Oddrey with her skittishness. She’s had surgery on her leg to stabilize it and will be having knee surgery soon. She has fur siblings who have welcomed her into their pack and a loving family who love and care for her very much.
Posey, now Talie, was another very fearful dog at the shelter. They asked us to take her immediately because she was not doing well there. Talie was able to come out of her shell and got herself a new family. Her mom and fur sibling have allowed her to feel safe and loved. She loves to go on walks, spend time with her fur sister and also has a favorite blankie which she loves to carry with her from room to room.
