✨ Krewe Member of The Week: Elizabeth ✨

Our Resurge Krewe is filled with talented, hardworking individuals who pour their heart into every patient. This week, we’re proud to highlight Elizabeth and the passion she brings to our ICU team.

For the past 10 years, Elizabeth has been a dedicated and compassionate part of the veterinary field. She began her career as a Veterinary Assistant and has grown into her current role as an ICU Technician with Resurge, where she plays a vital part in providing critical care to our most vulnerable patients.

Elizabeth’s passion for animals runs deep — she is proudly following in her late father’s footsteps, carrying forward a family legacy of care and compassion. Her calm presence, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to her patients make her an invaluable member of our ICU team.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending quality time with her children, experimenting in the kitchen, and unwinding with her favorite video game.

As we reflect on this season of gratitude, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our clients, patients, and veterinary colleagues. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership — it is a privilege to provide care and support to the pets who mean so much to you.

✨ Krewe Member of the Week: Korey ✨

If you’ve been to Resurge before, you’ve probably seen Korey in just about every department — and that’s because he truly can do it all! From ICU and acupuncture to surgery and now neurology, he’s our jack of all trades.

Korey has been a veterinary technician for 15 years, and while he’s skilled in every corner of the clinic, he especially loves surgery and neurology.

In his spare time, you can find him reading, spending time with his son, or playing video games.

Every clinic deserves a Korey… just not our Korey — we’re so grateful to have him as part of our krewe! ⚜️💜

🐾 Meet Samson 🐾

Samson came to us for an evaluation of a large mass on his right hip. His owner first noticed it as a small, golf-ball–sized lump almost two years ago, but it had grown significantly since then.

On examination, Dr. Dena Lodato found a ~25 x 22 x 18 cm subcutaneous, immobile, firm mass over Samson’s right hip joint, with areas of ulceration and hair loss. After discussing options with his owner, they decided that surgical removal was the best path forward.

Before surgery, Samson weighed 107.6 lbs. After surgery, he weighed 90.8 lbs — meaning his mass weighed an incredible 16.8 pounds.

Since surgery, Samson is so much more comfortable and is doing wonderfully! We’re thrilled to see him feeling better and moving easier. 💜🐶

✨ Krewe Member of The Week: Vanessa ✨

If you’ve been to Resurge, you’ve likely seen Vanessa greeting you at the front desk or stepping in as Dr. Yates’ technician. But what many don’t know is that she’s also our incredible Hospital Manager. ⚜️

Here’s a little about Vanessa, in her own words:

“I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I developed a love for animals at a young age. This love would guide me personally and professionally into Veterinary Medicine immediately after high school in 1990. My lifelong commitment was to the health and well being of animals.

I received my associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 2014 from Northshore Technical College. I furthered my education at Southeastern Louisiana University where I received my Bachelor Degree in Education in 2016.

My greatest joy of being in Veterinary Medicine is to be a part of a dedicated team who helps pets heal and return home to the families who love them.

35 years in this field and still going!”

Vanessa’s dedication, compassion, and leadership make Resurge better every single day. We’re so grateful to have her as part of our Krewe! 🐾💚💜

Last night, Dr. Lodato had the pleasure of speaking at the November Florida Parish Veterinary Medical Association (FPVMA) Meeting at the Holiday Inn!

She presented an in-depth talk on “Septic Peritonitis: Bad Feeling In Your Gut?” — covering the signs, diagnosis, and treatment of this life-threatening condition.

We’re always grateful for the opportunity to collaborate, learn, and share knowledge with our veterinary community. Thank you to all to the doctors and technicians who attended! 💜💚
