🚨 Why confinement matters 🚨
This patient had surgery to repair a fracture, but despite clear instructions for strict confinement, the patient was allowed too much activity. As a result, the implant plate broke before the bone could heal.

👉 Confinement after orthopedic surgery is not optional—it’s essential to protect the repair, prevent complications, and ensure proper healing. 💜🐾

🧠✨ Dr. Yates, veterinary neurologist/ neurosurgeon (DVM), performing a hemilaminectomy — a delicate spinal surgery where part of the vertebra (the lamina) is removed to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.

This procedure is often done to treat intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), helping pets regain mobility, reduce pain, and get back to enjoying life on their paws. 🐾💜

🐶 Sadie’s Big Comeback! 🐶

On June, 16th, sweet Sadie came to us on an emergency visit after an accident at her trainer’s. While playing with a toy, she landed wrong from a jump and suddenly couldn’t put any weight on her back leg. 💔

X-rays showed she had a comminuted tibial fracture (a pretty tricky break). The very next day, Dr. Lodato performed surgery to repair her tibia. And Sadie? She was toe-touching the next morning and walking on it by the time she went home—what a champ! 💪✨

Her recovery didn’t stop there—Sadie’s family committed to rehab with underwater treadmill and laser therapy. She LOVED her treadmill walks… especially with a ball in her mouth! 🎾

Fast forward to August, 11th—her recheck X-rays show her fracture is fully healed! Now she’s cleared to start easing back into all the fun things she loves. 🐶❤️

Way to go, Sadie—we’re so proud of you! 🥳👏
