I will start off by saying, Hi, and welcome to Crabbie info and more. Just like most of you I have bought hermit crabs over the years when I was a child. You get their an easy pet, you keep them in a critter tank, they just eat pellets, and so much more. I have bought them from pet stores, and from beach shops. Well listen up all that is wrong!!!!!
I took a trip to myrtle beach. I ended up coming back with 4 hermit crabs. I also had bought 3 from the pet store before hand. I started googling (if thats a word) and came apon some very detailed information. After watching video's and reading a lot of information I got to work on a proper habitat for my new crabbies. No wonder they alway where dying off. Me as a human just going by what the pet store or beach shop said a 20 dollar pet just got expensive. By that I mean hundrens of dollars. Im still always buying stuff for them.
Needless to say I went from a Plastic critter cage, to a 29 gallon, to now a 75 gallon tank. Throw out all the hermit crab supplies that I bought at the pet stores, threw out all the painted shells I bought. We will get into all that soon. From the groups I have joined and all the information I have took in, i'm on the right track. So I made this page because I want to give all the information I know and turn you onto the right care!
