Cochise is finally home after 9 days in the ICU. He had surgery to remove urinary crystals and was on the road to recovery, but the stress of being away from home took a toll. He became depressed, stopped eating, and lost a lot of weight - so his doctors agreed it was best to continue his healing at home where he feels safe and loved. 🐐
We’re so relieved to have him back and will be doing everything we can to help him gain strength and feel like himself again. 🚨 Our sweet goat Cochise is giving us quite a scare. After showing signs of lethargy, at 11pm we rushed him to an emergency vet, and by 3am we transferred him to UGA’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital for emergency surgery due to a life-threatening urinary blockage—something he bravely overcame once before, two years ago. ❤️‍🩹

Cochise is currently in surgery, and we’re hoping for another miracle. As a small nonprofit sanctuary, unexpected emergencies like this are emotionally and financially overwhelming. If you’re able to donate or share, it would mean the world to us and to Cochise. 💛
