Don’t forget fellow riders, soften up those horses this week !
We can get so focused on keeping them exercised or patterned and we forget a good slow work day with some split reins and lots of leg cues can really tune your horse in !
God is Good you guys and these amazing animals we get to borrow from him are such a blessing !

A wet week ahead but still one of progress ! Slow mental work planned for a few fur babies this week and I’m pretty excited about it ! I’ll share more through the week. Also our second barrel race of the year schedule for this Saturday at Agricenter International ! 🐎🐎

Don’t forget we are still in colic season. Keep that fresh warm water flowing and plenty of hay !

This is the latest module we see. 1-4” looks to be in most of Wolfpack’s West TN, Eastern AR, northern MS areas. Middle TN areas could see the same amount or more. ALL of Wolfpack territory is under a Winter Storm Watch until 6pm SUNDAY NIGHT! This system WILL impact your travel, please go to the store this weekend if you need items, get some gas in your car , and be ready for the COLD!! This system is bringing some ice and rain as well. This will be slick on the roads. We will update again tomorrow as Izzy moves closer to our areas. Have a great Friday night ! ❤️ -Katye

Just a few quick pictures of today’s saddle time ! A few pointers I want to share with you guys !

This is colic season, when the temps jump up and down !
Make sure there’s plenty of fresh water and your watching closely for your horse to act out of character !

Horses need to enjoy what they do as much as we enjoy riding them !
Then you have a partnership and that is priceless !

Pack more snacks than you think you need before heading to the barn because if your anything like me , you will always be there longer than planned 🤣🐎

Had a great mid day session with a client showing her the ropes of saddling and lunging using my oldest fella , Lad ! At a young 21 years of age he still feels his oats !
Working with folks wanting to own horses or new owners is sooo much fun ! God is Good !

Trailer work with one of my own personal horses this evening ! I’ll try and video some of the next one !
She’s always had to be sorta low key forced to load. Working to make it her idea and a self loader !
Ps THIS TAKES TIME ! Literally the only thing I can find this mare doesn’t like to do so I’ll definitely make this a weekly session for her !

She also had some adjustments after her trailer session with her pain point specialist. Okay by now y’all are realizing she’s a bit special to me 🥰

Yesterday was an amazing day for horse training ! From frost at 8am to dark 8pm ! It was full and covered 2 states and 5 different breeds of AMAZING horses ! I need THANK GOD and all of you amazing folks for sharing my training services with your friends !
God has been doing some hard work connecting me with all of these amazing folks , giving all the glory to him !!!
Now it’s time to do some deer hunting with the family ! 🦌

A proud trainer moment when a mare has been sitting for awhile but hasn’t forgotten a thing from a few years back ! Cant wait for the adventures ahead for this little gal !

So this is a progression into ground tie. For my non-horse followers that means training your horse to stand wherever you whoa them. This is an amazing skill for them to know for any type of riding. An old man once told me , horses know how to go , we have to teach them to whoa 🐎👏 … and boy if that’s not the truth ! ☺️💜

Let’s talk about chiropractic work on our big fur babies! 

This morning one of my mares had her first session with an equine Ciropractor and we made progress! Friday evenings ride she showed me signs that her front end was sore and when they speak , WE MUST LISTEN ! 🐎🐎

If you know your horse , then you know when something is off but you must be very in tune to them to feel / see this.

I’m hoping to feel a difference on her next ride and have some stretching exercises to workout before and after her ride !

Then one thing I don’t want to do is to push her when she is sore , if I where to push her she could possibly become sour to that exercise and that takes awhile to overcome ! Don’t create a problem where there isn’t one ladies and gentlemen, instead, seek help for your horse !

A Wednesday work session for this beautiful paint mare ! The owner and I have a history together and have been having weekly lessons building their relationship, trust and tools as a team! MY FAVORITE THING TO DO ! Ps , I do not supply the horse for lessons , I work with owner and horse together, it’s my speciality and what I enjoy the most ! I’m also available to help an owner seeking a new horse find the right fit !

Saturday the owner txt me with a road block. The action sounds out of the ordinary for this mare so I needed to feel things for myself.
So we saddled up , figured out the triggers , found some cues , replaced her feet and tada 🎉 , we are back in business !

Next session is teaching the owner how do the same thing !

This is absolutely WHAT I LOVE !
Owners / riders - please remember these beautiful animals can’t speak English, they can’t tell us their thoughts BUT they will show us how they feel and it’s up to us to be attentive riders and take things one step at a time ! You want your horse to learn but they all learn differently !

Let’s talk a moment about setting up the correct bridle for your horse !

Remember that the bit , it’s mouth piece , position in the mouth , chin strap all can affect the way your horse feels your cues through your reins ! Take your time changing things , watch and feel your horses reaction to small changes !

Here is a perfect example of modifying a bridle set up with bit guards ! If your mouth piece slides on the shank then bit guards ( the rubber round pieces you see ) are a great idea to protect to Side of your horses mouth !

Good afternoon you guys ! So quick life update! I have begun back training horses and teaching riding lessons basically full time with the exception of being a mom !
