Vet Tech Week Highlight: Stephanie!

Stephanie's favorite part of being a technician is client education, when it comes to moving forward with surgeries (going over the importance and reassuring owners). Stephanie finds surgeries, dental procedures in particular, most rewarding, and says, "there's something satisfying about going from teeth with tartar build-up to pearly whites!".

She finds seeing pets live happier and healthier lives post-surgery to be just one of many joys in the veterinary world.

Favorite drink- boba! "My favorite drink is the Thai green milk tea, I can have it at any time, fall, winter spring summer doesn't matter, it always hits the spot!"

Pierce County is seeing an alarming number of Parvo cases, especially in the homeless communities, and PACK (People for Animal Care and Kindness) is here to help prevent that. This is our start! 👏🙌🐾 Thank you PACK for putting on this FREE event and thank you to the three veterinarians, two vet techs, and multiple vet assistants who are volunteering their time to make a difference. Please give them a shout out! Parvo vaccines work, we just have to get them to the dogs that need them. They will also have core vaccines for felines this day as well. 👍

Tech week highlight: Brigitte S.!

Brigitte loves working in general practice where she can continue to provide the best care possible for cats and dogs. Brigitte is our tech lead, and truly a great example of what a leader should look like.
She has been at VCA Covington long enough to have watched puppies and kittens grow into happy and healthy additions to many people's families, and she says, "it feels good knowing we've been there to help facilitate that." Brigitte has been pursuing Clinical Practice specialty in an effort to continue practicing the best patient care she can. She really is a Fear Free Champion, and will take as long as it takes to make sure that each patient is comfortable, and every client is confident with any care they are to give at home. We are so lucky to have Brigitte on our team, and there's truly not enough praise we could ever put into words to describe our gratitude to her. Thank you Brigitte!

Favorite drink: Earl gray tea lattes with oatmilk! She says, "It's my go-to fall/winter drink."
