We are excited to announce that we have been approved to move onto phase 2 of UKC’s breed recognition program 🎉 they are now accepting registrations for Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs in their Bloodlines Listing Service. This is similar to a “provisional period”. UKC’s goal is to have as much participation as possible in registering and participating in local and national UKC events. You will be able to register your dogs and litters with them as normal. Your Bloodlines Listing Service registration number will allow you to participate in all UKC performance events. Alapahas are ineligible to participate in conformation shows until full recognition status is granted.
This is a HUGE step forward for our breed and we could not have made this achievement without the support from all of you. With that being said, any further registration needs are to be directed to UKC. The Alapaha Bulldog Registry will no longer be registering Alapahas at this time. We encourage you all as owners, breeders and fanciers to take advantage of this great opportunity and register your dogs with them, as well as, participate in any local or national UKC events. The ABR will still be holding working events, but we do not have any dates setup at this time.

We will try to answer the most common questions below…..
Who is eligible to register with UKC?
ABR Alapahas of course, as well as all other clubs, registries and associations. - All pedigrees must match the database, if they do not, UKC will reach out to verify authenticity.
What do I need to register?
You will need paperwork stating ownership and pedigree of your Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog from either the ABR or any other club, registry, or association.
Why are Alapahas restricted from conformation during phase 2?
UKC will be looking at the ABR standard as well as all other registries and clubs that recognize the breed to come up with a standard that fits the breed. They will also be working with the Alapaha Bulldog Club in order to work on the UKC standard for the Alapaha. They also would like to see the type of numbers that will be registering across the world.
Will there be a Breed Club?
Yes, the Alapaha Bulldog Club will be recognized as a Breed Club. After recognition, we will have the opportunity to become the National Breed Club. Yearly fees will go into effect in the year 2025. Fees will help supply future working events and awards since there will no longer be a registry generating any revenue.
Will Alapaha of the Year and/or Kennel of the Year still happen?
We will of finish out this year for both.
The Breed Club will discuss what the future holds for both. Of course, there will be events and we can adjust the Kennel of the Year accordingly.
Will we be holding shows?
No, the ABR will be dissolving after 2024. We will assist anyone needing paperwork for this transition and then in 2025 it’ll be solely UKC registering. (If you need any assistance in regards to paperwork, please message or email the ABR.)
The Alapaha Bulldog Club will do events using fundraisers, merchandise sales and member fees.
