“Dogs are pack animals” is true... but misunderstood.
Most owners miss a key detail about dog hierarchy:
🐾 It’s not about dominance
🐾 It’s about access to resources
🐾 It shifts based on age, health, and trust
Want your dog to stop barking, lunging, or guarding?
Start by watching how dogs greet each other.
🐶 Sniffing the rear = normal
🐶 Rolling over = submission
🐶 Turning head away = de-escalation
These are not random habits.
They’re signals.
Ignore them, and you get fights, tension, or fear.
Understand them, and you avoid stress and train faster.
Here’s what helped one of my clients:
They had two dogs constantly growling at dinner.
We adjusted feeding zones and reinforced calm behavior.
In 2 days, both dogs were eating peacefully.
No dominance dance, no alpha commands.
Want better behavior from your dog?
Then learn their language first.
