🇺🇸 NEVER AN ADOPTION FEE FOR A VETERAN 🇺🇸

Don't forget next Monday is Veterans Day!

We will be closed Monday in observance of it — however, we encourage any Veteran to come in and adopt a companion next week! With our "Pets and Vets" Program, we offer a fee-waived adoption— hoping to connect Veterans to their perfect companion.

Experts believe that the presence of an animal – specially trained or not – can reduce a veteran's cortisol levels helping reduce anxiety and stress, improve their sleep, encourage regular physical activity and provide non-judgmental companionship significantly benefiting mental health.

In recent years we have extended this program to military spouses and widows as well!

All of our animals are up for adoption are fully vetted (just like vets😉) which means microchipped, up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, and they are sent home with lots of goodies!

To qualify: simply present your veteran endorsed state ID, military ID, veteran ID card, DD-214, or NGB-22 at the time of your adoption processing.
We are located at 31078 Highway 36 in Lacombe, LA.

Bringing a new dog home? 🐶 Adjusting to a new environment can be tough for dogs, but with patience, understanding, and a bit of guidance, you can help make this transition smoother.

Dogs often go through what’s known as the “3-3-3” adjustment period: ➡️First 3 days: They might feel overwhelmed, acting hyper, extra-curious, or clingy. Some may even appear unusually calm. ➡️ First 3 weeks: As they start to settle, they’ll test boundaries, showing shifts in energy and behavior. You might notice them becoming more independent or seeking more attention. ➡️ First 3 months: By this time, your dog will likely feel comfortable, revealing their true personality and preferences for people, activities, and even favorite toys or treats.

Remember, every dog adjusts at their own pace, and some may not follow this guideline exactly. Your patience and care will go a long way in helping them feel safe and loved in their new home. 💗

If your dog is showing signs of stress, it’s okay! They may need more time and reassurance as they figure out what makes them feel secure. Whether they need more exercise, extra snuggles, or more space, being flexible with their needs is key. 🐕

Give them time, and soon enough, they’ll be wagging their tails, feeling at home, and showing you their most confident selves.

Once they've been settled in their new home for at least two weeks, bring them to Camp for an interview! We're here to fulfill all your pup’s socialization and exercise needs!
