UPDATE ON RHETT (now Rue):

You might remember Rue, the senior Plott Hound who came to us at Saving Webster back in October in desperate need of a safe place due to his poor physical condition. Well, look at him now!

Rue has absolutely blossomed. He loves his walks—no matter how cold it gets—and enjoys playing with his toys like the big, goofy boy he is. He’s even mastered sitting on command!

This amazing boy adores his crate, is sweet beyond words, and is now warm, well-fed, and totally spoiled—just as he deserves.

Rue is proof of the resilience of these incredible dogs. Thank you Cheryl for the update and thank you to everyone who supports our mission to give dogs like Rue a second chance.

Let’s celebrate Rue’s journey together—drop some love for him in the comments!

Spencer is a strikingly handsome, roughly 2-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound with a heart as big as his frame. This gentle giant came to Saving Webster Dogs as a stray in July 2024, arriving in poor condition but never losing his sweet, loving nature. With regular meals and a little TLC, Spencer has blossomed into a gorgeous hound who is ready to steal hearts.

Described as a "big old hunka-hunka hound," Spencer is tailor-made for big dog lovers. He’s strong yet sweet, dog-friendly, people-friendly, and always eager to please. His chill demeanor and good leash manners make him a joy to walk, and his "take-me-home ready" personality means he’s more than prepared to settle into his forever home.

Spencer’s proportions are as perfect as his temperament—he’s not just loveable; he’s downright irresistible. Whether you’re looking for a loyal companion for outdoor adventures or a couch buddy to share quiet evenings, Spencer is your guy.

This big-hearted boy has endured tough times but has come out the other side shining. Could you be the one to give Spencer the loving home he’s been waiting for? He’s ready to meet you and show just how special he is!

On this chilly morning and just in time for the holidays - 4 dogs left Saving Webster Dogs! Our two senior beagles headed to a partner rescue (Sonny and Cher) and two dogs headed to foster (David and Hudson).

A huge thank you to Trish and Andrew, Kelly and Rich, Erin, and Carol for coming together to make this happen so quickly— in less than 24 hours!

It appears that Sonny likes to sing (just like his namesake) and joined in singing Christmas carols on the second part of his ride. We have a sneaking suspicion that Sonny and Cher may not be put on the rescue's "available for adoption" list - but you didn't hear that from us!

Happy Tails to Sonny, Cher, David, and Hudson!

**Confirmed Rescue Commitment**

Meet PAISLEY- Adoptable Dog of the Week!

Breed: Boxer/Hound Mix
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Estimated to be around 2 years old
Size: Medium (26-60 lbs)

Paisley is a sweet and sensitive 2-year-old female Boxer/Hound mix who came to Saving Webster Dogs in June 2024 after being found as a stray. Medium-sized with a unique brindle and white coat, Paisley has an endearing personality that makes her easy to love. Her gentle and intuitive nature suggests she was once an in-house dog, and we suspect that she is likely house-trained.

Paisley enjoys playing with toys, making her a fun and engaging companion. She seems to have had some leash training and would enjoy leisurely strolls as much as quality cuddle time. Paisley gets along well with other dogs and with people.

This affectionate girl is looking for a family to give her the love and stability she deserves. If you’re searching for a loyal, playful, and loving companion, Paisley is ready to fill your life with joy and tail wags!

Huge Shout-Out to SWD Supporter Hannah!!!

We want to take a moment to thank Hannah for her incredible support of Saving Webster Dogs (SWD). Hannah first discovered SWD when she and her mom stepped up to rescue Revelry, a hound who had been tragically shot in the face and found in Holly River Park. Their kindness and determination gave Revelry a second chance at life.

Since then, Hannah has gone above and beyond to support SWD—organizing donation drives, purchasing dog food and treats, and even volunteering her time on-site. Her compassion and dedication are nothing short of inspiring.

Hannah, your heart of gold is making a world of difference for the dogs who need it most. Thank you for everything you do!

Let’s all give Hannah the recognition she deserves!

SAVING WEBSTER DOGS

Hello from the beautiful mountains of West Virginia!!

Welcome to the official FB page of Foxfire Farm Kennels, Inc. aka Saving Webster Dogs. We rescue out of a rural 6 run high-kill pound in Webster Springs, in Cowen, WV. We are a tiny handful of dedicated volunteers who take pictures and network, foster and provide lifesaving rescue for code red dogs that ar e given 5 days, or euthanasia. We are donation based and receive no funding from the County. Every little bit helps us save the lives of these beautiful Webster dogs, it takes a village. If you’d like to foster or help us transport some vet runs, please email us at [email protected].

You can also be a hero and donate any amount towards our rescue, by clicking here to our PayPal: www.paypal.me/savingwebsterdogs

Your donation will go towards high quality food, bedding, and much needed veterinary care. Often times it’s the first time these animals are treated with love and kindness. Will you help us and become a Webster Warrior?
