CLIFFORD UPDATE!!!

We’re so happy to share an update on our redtick boy, Clifford, who was adopted by Max and Emily back in August. Clifford had been with Saving Webster Dogs for a couple of months and truly needed out. The summer heat was hard on him, and life in an outdoor kennel just wasn’t where he was meant to be.

When Max and Emily reached out, they chose four dogs they were interested in—but then asked the question that melted all of our hearts: “Who needs out the most?” Without blinking an eye, they happily agreed to adopt Clifford when we told them he was our most needy dog at the time.

Well, look at him now. Max and Emily report that Clifford is doing great. He’s such a fun dog. He’s still a little nervous walking on hardwood floors and things that are too soft, but he’s completely housetrained and even comes to the door to be let in instead of bedding down outside. It seems he’s learning to enjoy the finer things in life.

Clifford goes to work with Max and Emily regularly and absolutely loves it, probably because everyone there loves him and plays with toys with him. He’s become a total love bug, learning how to cuddle in bed, and he brings his stuffies with him. He’s in good health and is being such a sweet boy.

Please join us in thanking Max and Emily for giving Clifford such a wonderful home.

Happy Tails, Blaze (now Ziggy)!

We’re overjoyed to celebrate the adoption of Blaze, who came to Saving Webster Dogs back in May as a stray. He arrived shy, but it didn’t take long for his sweet personality to shine through—especially with people. While Blaze needed a little more time to warm up to other dogs, you could always tell how badly he wanted canine companionship.

Thanks to the incredible dedication of his fosters, Amy and Dan, Blaze truly blossomed. They helped him come out of his shell and begin his journey of learning to trust and how to be an inside dog. Their patience and love made all the difference.

A cross post from a friend of the rescue gave Blaze tons of exposure, and the adoption applications came flying in. That’s when Jeannine saw him and just knew he was meant to complete her family. After losing her beloved dog, Brody, some time ago, she finally decided it was time to find a new playmate for her other dog, Jesse.

Enter Blaze, now known as Ziggy.

After a short adjustment period, Ziggy and Jesse have truly found their rhythm together. What started with cautious curiosity has turned into playing in the backyard, with plenty of wagging tails and happy energy. And the zoomies! THE ZOOMIES! The video attached says it all. When the fun winds down, Ziggy is just as content to relax, curling up beside Jeannine after long days filled with play, learning, and love. Seeing Ziggy so settled, confident, and at peace in his new home reminds us why we do this work. He couldn’t be happier, and our hearts couldn’t be fuller.

Happy tails, Ziggy. Welcome to your forever home.

NEW PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT!

We are so excited to share that we’ve officially partnered with Revelation Paws Pet Boarding & Technician Services in Greencastle, PA and we couldn’t be more grateful.

We were in a tough spot trying to find a safe, warm place for Boomer—our senior Blue Tick Coonhound—to relax and be cared for while he waits for his forever home. From the very first message, Kaitlyn was quick to respond and incredibly kind, even while caring for an infant who’s barely a month old. She and her husband, Alan, have been absolutely wonderful to work with.

They welcomed Boomer with open arms, showed him so much love, and generously gave us a significant discount because we are a non-profit dog rescue. That level of compassion and support truly means the world to us.

Thank you, Kaitlyn and Alan, for your willingness to work with us, for giving us a much-needed monetary break, and for loving Boomer as much as we do.

We’d also love to ask our supporters to please go like Revelation Paws Pet Boarding and Technician Services’ page, share their posts, and tell your friends and family about them. Supporting businesses like Revelation helps make lifesaving rescue work possible.

AND JUST A REMINDER: Boomer is available for adoption and would love to find his forever home.

Happy Tails for Smokey!

Smokey is one of the lucky ones. He was only with Saving Webster Dogs for two short weeks before finding his forever home—and what a perfect match it is.

Thanks to some creative cross-posting by a friend of SWD into an Elkhound Facebook group, Smokey caught the eye (and hearts) of Merry and Rick. Having loved and shared their lives with four Elkhounds in the past, the void of not having one was just too great. The moment they saw Smokey, they knew he was meant to be theirs.

With quick thinking, an available vet appointment, and the wonderful flexibility of Merry and Rick, things moved fast—literally days. Merry, so named because her birthday is on Christmas, had just one wish: to have Smokey home by Christmas. We did even better than that. She and Rick now have two extra weeks with Smokey to plan for his very first Christmas together.

A special thank-you goes out to our amazing volunteers Barb and Larry, who braved the elements and traveled a bit farther north than our usual Morgantown transfer spot to make this reunion possible.

Today, Smokey is warm, safe, deeply loved, and absolutely thriving in his new Ohio home.

Happy tails and Merry Christmas, Smokey.

ADOPTION UPDATE:

After weeks of quietly watching and waiting, Cody's (now Huck) forever story has finally begun.

Huck came to Saving Webster Dogs as a stray in late August/early September. From the moment he arrived, he became a volunteer favorite thanks to his quiet, calm, and chill demeanor. He was content to observe the hustle and bustle of rescue life, patiently waiting for his time. And what a wait it turned out to be.

Huck caught the eye of Emily and CJ as they searched to add a fourth hound to their pack following the devastating loss of their beloved Hank this past summer. Hank, a striking coonhound himself, left a big hole in their hearts. Emily and CJ asked Hank to send them the right pup, and it’s clear he answered that call.

Once the connection was made, the Saving Webster Dogs team jumped into action. Required vetting was completed, transports were coordinated, and plans were set in motion to get Huck closer to his new home in Pennsylvania. Since Huck would be joining three other hounds, a meet and greet on neutral ground was a must. A huge thank you to volunteer Erin for making this happen. She met Emily, CJ, and their hounds Toby, Dunkin, and Daisy at a local dog park, where things went great. There was a little grumbling, but nothing out of the ordinary, and everyone left just fine.

Now Huck is settling into his new digs, learning to trust, love, and enjoy the wonder that comes from being part of one big family.

Please join us in thanking Emily and CJ for opening their hearts and home to this wonderful pup, and our dedicated volunteers who helped make this happy ending possible.
