And for those wondering about Goose… he’s still growing up beautifully! And has a personality to match… as you can see by his face when he was about to terrorize my feet tonight 😹

Goose turned one a few days ago and thinks he is a full grown cat daddy already! He’s talking to my girls all over the house every chance he gets, even those that no longer have interest in a boy. His testing will begin soon and we will see if his health in the areas we can’t see matches everything we can see. I’ll keep you posted of course.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas from Nate, Laura, Nanna and Cooper of MacLan’s!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our break from having kittens but miss them equally as much! We are very excited to be breeding on a much smaller scale moving into 2025 where we will set the bar even higher for ourselves, focus on health and ethics as we always have, increase kitten socialization even more than in the past, and hope to continue being a resource to our current and future families. We have never focused on producing high numbers of kittens and that won’t change. We want every litter hand picked and special, with ample time to raise them among our daily lives so they seamlessly transition into yours! Our future breeding plans will include no more than three queens and one to two kings at any given time so we can raise each litter enthusiastically and give every adult the time and care they deserve.

I (Laura) have especially developed a personal friendship with so many families and I know I won’t be able to reach out to everyone individually. So, just know that you fill my cup and make this hobby worth continuing. Your updates and messages keep me striving to be more with every little decision I need to make.

A special thank you to the Nana of our Cattery that takes care of so many things when we are working. She’s cuddled a mom in labor until I get there, bottle fed babies that were falling behind, scooped more litter than she’d like I’m sure 😆, washed water fountains until her hands are cramped, played with and socialized your babies, vet visits and everything in between!

Of course we are missing the kids (didn’t want to be in the pic of course- teens 😅), Lou Lou and all of the MacLan’s kitties because trying to travel to an outdoor picture with that many cats would be insane, right?

Anyways, we just wanted to drop a note to let you know that we are still here, we are all still doing great (kitties included) and we can’t wait for what 2025 has in store.

Hope your Christmas and New Year is blessed friends!

Many of you ask about Goose and wanted to see how he’s maturing. We went outside this afternoon and I couldn’t help but take way too many pics of him. I love him in the bright sunlight, I love him in the shade, I love him anywhere 💗 he’s 10 months old now yall! Our plans are to have his testing completed when he’s old enough and pray he can be our future stud.

Unfortunately, I don’t have that exciting news to share I mentioned a few weeks ago about a new girls with extra toes, that kitten just wasn’t what we want to work with in the future. Since we will produce so few litters, we want to be overly selective. We do hope that he will be able to pair nicely with Cotton and Lumi in 2025. And just maybe one of the breeders I’ve worked with in the past will have something they’re willing to share with us 🤞

We don’t keep a waitlist anymore so stay tuned for future litter news by following here.

Pending- we have two potential homes at this time. Thank you to everyone for the interest!

We are thoroughly enjoying our kitten free period to rest a little and get caught up on some of our other projects! And even though it has been hard on my heart, I’m also enjoying seeing my retired adults that have ventured home, become part of a new family to love.

With that said, I have one more adult that is looking for her forever lap to sit on. We are located in central Kentucky and happy to meet within an hour or our home for pickup.

If you are interested in a retired adult, please let me know by sending me a message on this page.

The pros of an adult vs a kitten? We have more health testing information and already know the personality considerations for that cat. Also, adults are retiring at half the cost of a kitten so this can be more affordable for many. Per usual, if an existing family is interested, they will get preference.

Cons of an adult? They do typically take a little longer to adjust and need more caring consideration while adjusting. Having a private (free from other pets and rowdy children) area for the first couple of weeks is *key*! They must first adjust from initial shock, then become accustomed to the new sounds and smells in their new home. When given too much space and under stress from existing pets and household noises, adults can be harder to get acclimated so keep this in mind. Your bedroom or an office space is generally a great place to close off for the adjustment period.

As far as those waiting or inquiring for a kitten, we plan to do proper testing for Goose and Cotton once they are old enough and should they pass, Goose will be our only King and our queens will consist of Lumi, Cotton and one more surprise we hope to announce soon! Just for fun, I’ll say the new surprise is sure to offer more of those poly feet!

Hope you guys have a blessed fall season!

Edit- she has found her home. Thank you for everyone that showed interest in Miss Sunni Girl.

MacLan’s Sunshine on a Cloudy Day aka Sunni is also retiring! See the details below.

-Sunni is currently available only to existing families and vet office employees. I will update this post if she becomes available to others.
-Sunni was born May 10, 2022
-Sunni is very sweet, loves kneading her paws and being close to you.
-She is black smoke in color with standard paws.
-She is utd on vaccinations and not due again until June 2025. She is microchipped. She has had a genetic test and clear, echocardiogram and deemed to have a healthy heart at that time, radiographs of her hips with preliminary OFA grading.
-She raised one litter of kittens- The Fruity Girls
-She eats both wet and dry foods fine
-She’s about 12 pounds
-She is not a cat you can bathe by yourself at home without medication but she had a bath yesterday and does a good job grooming and likely won’t need another for quite some time if you have a good brushing routine. She enjoys the brush, just not the water 😉

She can come home anytime but we can only meet on the weekends. Because she is younger, her priced has been reduced to half of a kittens price.

Easy is spoken for!

Easy to Love aka Easy is ready for his *perfect* retirement home! Please read below the details.

-First, existing families and our vet office employees have first option. That just means only those that have a kitten from us already or work at our vets office can adopt at this moment- if he doesn’t get chosen by one of them, I’ll update this post to make him available to those who do not have a kitten from us. If I have multiple wonderful options, we may have to do a name from a hat 🤷🏼‍♀️ to choose. More or less, first come first approved approach.
-Easy was born 9/19/2020 and imported from Slovakia. He is not a kitten we had born here but we’ve had him 3 years and raised him.
-Easy is currently 20 lbs but is a very tall, long and lean 20.
-His hair is harder to manage and will have the look to it that he does in these photos. He had a fresh bath yesterday. He doesn’t do a great job cleaning himself so it’ll be up to you to clean his ears with a warm wash cloth and will require brushing and bathing more frequently- the plus? He’s very docile and excellent to bathe and dry. You could also get him in regularly with a groomer. His hair will continue filling out as he is farther from his neuter. He doesn’t love his tummy brushed or his nails clipped but he is no stranger to either.
-He does not spray since his neuter, but he did at one time so it will be important for him to be introduced slowly into the home to avoid the feeling of competition and conflict. Maybe even ideal to put a diaper on him when he’s first acclimated just in case.
-He feels indifferent about dogs- neither cares what they’re doing nor is scared.
-He is very “easy to love”. Maybe the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet. He doesn’t bother anyone, however, when provoked, he will hold his own so be aware if you are considering him and you have a dominant personality in your pet line up at home.
-He is now finally eating some dry food but still will require about 2 whole cans of wet food daily. This is important to maintain for him. He spent 3 years only eating about 6 cans of wet food a day so him eating dry food is new and a big deal.
-He is very tall and requires a large litter pan. So much so that we are currently using a small livestock water trough. I will send this with him if you want it but that means having a place out of sight and large enough for him to use. If you want to try a normal litter pan, be my guest, but you’ll likely find he pees over the side.
-He is up to date on vaccinations until November.
-He had a dental cleaning earlier this year and some extractions. In the future, he will likely need another dental as would any other cat more than likely as they age.
-Easy had had a genetic test and clear, an echocardiogram and deemed a healthy heart at the time, and hip radiographs with preliminary OFA grading.

I really can’t think of anything else but feel free to message me if you have questions or you are interested in giving him a forever home. He is able to come home anytime now but will need to meet on the weekend. If he is taken by a vet employee or existing family, there is no fee for him.

I am not going to update pictures for him, he’s an adult and won’t change plus I’m currently in my “on break era” 🤗

And I don’t know if they’ll see it, but I’m feeling very appreciative today! I can’t say thank you enough to my mother in law for all the chores she does on the daily for these kitties, my daughter for helping socialize kittens and on picture days is always willing to jump in and do whatever is needed, my son for being willing to take one to the vet while I work if needed and helping to play with them, and my husband for doing literally everything I do along side me in addition to driving every delivery and being the muscles when I need something built or carried. This truly is a family affair and without the help of every single person, we couldn’t continue in any capacity. We are looking forward to our little break. I want to enjoy these sweet people that have set aside parts of their day, every day, to help me with my dreams! We hope to be refreshed next year and ready to dream more!

And this little cutie, Poppy fka Gingham, is going to a family that has grown very dear to my heart. They are the family of two of our other kittens, Banks and Ivy (Bear from the Hills and Valleys litter and Reese from the Candy Bar Kids), and will be taking on another MacLan’s baby. Their momma is so kind to take time from her day to send me sweet updates and pictures and she will never know how much I appreciate that! There are days when her message and cute picture just turns my day around.

And just because I know this will prompt messages, I don’t have any available kittens or cats right now. We do not plan to have another litter of kittens until 2025. We also do not take names for a waitlist.

This guy, Oxford, is rock solid! He’s like holding a boulder! We love how energetic and social he is. There is never a dull moment with him around and his family will love him! He goes home next weekend also, and will be little brother to one of our past kittens, Scotch, from the Christmas Tree kids.

And just because I know this will prompt messages, I don’t have any available kittens or cats right now. We do not plan to have another litter of kittens until 2025. We also do not take names for a waitlist.

Ghost, formerly Poplin is maturing so beautifully. I could stare into her golden eyes for hours. They’re still in the in between baby color and adult color which is one of my favorite transitions to enjoy. She is still being socialized and worked with extensively. She just might be the hardest kitten we have had to win over socially but I do know persistence and consistency will pay off!

Ghost will be joining an existing family as well and will be the little sis of Grim. Their momma is very experienced in the breeding, show and training world and gives me invaluable advice and peace of mind when I allow myself to panic. I appreciate her wise council more than I could ever show!

And just because I know this will prompt messages, I don’t have any available kittens or cats right now. We do not plan to have another litter of kittens until 2025. We also do not take names for a waitlist.

I sure hope Holly loves Corduroy as much as me 💙 I am so excited to see him mature and hopefully enrich the breeding program of another. He is not perfect- no cat is- but I hope she can move forward with him and have confidence in his health, because we have worked for years to improve the health of the cats we produce. He is a 4th generation on his mothers side of favorable health screening and second on dads.

And just because I know this will prompt messages, I don’t have any available kittens or cats right now. We do not plan to have another litter of kittens until 2025. We also do not take names for a waitlist.
