This is imported off the ships and colored to present fresh and pink for resale. Good meat is a little discolored or aged on the outside - pink in the middle.
I was about to season these steaks from Costco and flipped them over to see this.
I brought them back immediately, I purchased them like 20 mins beforehand and the package said it was packed today.
When I took it back, the discolouring wasn't as bad and the return lady was confused. She said it looked normal, I showed her this Pic and said this can't be normal. The lady next to her said that it was because the meat they get isn't injected like the stuff I'd see at Walmart.
I said I don't god dang well care, please take this back and give me a refund, which they did no problem but, am I flipping crazy or are they flipping crazy!??!?! This seems very unsafe to eat but they were telling me it was fine and one of them mumbled "they actually look delicious".
