Our dog shampoo is easy to use and lathers nicely, leaving their coat soft and clean. It's available on our online store at www.TinasHideAway.com.
New Holstein Spring Fling today. 9-3. The whole street by Shirts & Giggles is full of vendors.
Good news: Our bees started bringing in pollen this weekend!
Bad news: Unfortunately 2 of our hives didn't make it.
The weather was finally warm enough to take a quick peak at the bees today and check how much food they have. I added some food to 2 of the hives. The good news is all 4 hives are still alive!
Unfortunately the warm weather is not the best thing for the bees. The warm weather causes them to go through their food stores way too fast. We took a look inside the hives today. 2 of the hives already went through more than half of the candy boards. The candy boards are meant to be their emergency food for the end of winter. We will keep monitoring thru the rest of winter.
Merry Christmas!
This is a first for Christmas Day....hearing the buzzing of honey bees. With the weather so warm there are lots of bees are out collecting water.
The wild plum trees are blooming, and the honey bees have found them.
BTW, they smell amazing!
First Honey Oatmeal soap is available for sale.
2 oz Magnolia Blossom bars are $3.50. (Only 3 left.)
4 oz Wood Z Clean are $7, this is a combination of Cedarwood, Frankincense, Orange, and Lavender scents.
Here's a video on how I did the pour for the soap we are calling "True Game". The smell is very similar to Old Spice Pure Sport. I will put a picture of the cut soap in the comments. This soap will be ready on 2/20/23.
Winter time doesn't mean the work with the bees is on hold. There are things to check on to help the bees make it through the winter. After last week's frigid cold I was happy to see activity in the hives. I don't open them up because I don't want cause them to lose too much heat. I definitely need a better tool to clean out the dead bees!
