What a fun group at drop off today! Bissli started off a little timid but warmed up quick. He and Wilson had a little bromance going while sweet Penny ran circles around them.

Barney found another ball on our walk today, that’s 3 now. He’s a bit obsessed with them and won’t trade for treats or drop them. Once we came back to his home I sat down so that I was less of a threat to take his ball and started tossing treats. He eventually dropped the ball and dropped his guard allowing me to get the ball. A little patience and strategic placement of treats for the win.

Consent is a concept that goes unnoticed by many people when it comes to their own dog. Most people know to ask before petting an unfamiliar dog but what about their own? Have you ever pet your dog and then see them yawn, turn their head away, flick their tongue or start to lick you. These can be signs that they want you to stop petting but they still want to be close to you. Next time this happens, pause petting and wait for their response. If then nudge back into you then continue to pet then. If they do nothing then wait for them to nudge or move closer to you before petting again.

Clover and Maui hit it off today during their Day Training session at Pet Supplies Plus. These two tired each other out and were ready for naps by the end of the session 😀. A fun day filled with learning new behaviors, playing and exploring the store.

Coco had a great time Day Training with me at Pet Supplies Plus. We worked on foundations behaviors like hand targeting, name recognition and find it. Then moved onto platform work with sits and downs. He loved it. Any time I turned around he placed himself upon another platform to get treats. We also played fetch, took a sniffy walk around the store and outside, had some kong time, and some down time relaxing. If your pup would like to join in the fun there’s space next Thursday with me and Coco!

I pulled a flirt pole out of my car one day at the end of a walk to play with Barney. Now this is what he does when he sees my car. He won’t budge not even for food. I need to find a better hiding spot for my car. 😂
