The Pawster Parents community tries to fill the need-gaps for animals in crisis. Our motto is "VILLAGE FIRST--Family, Friends & Fosters".

Pawster Parents is a nationwide nonprofit organization whose goal is to protect animals from shelter placement or abandonment. We strategically work with pet owners to consider reaching out to relatives and friends throughout the United States to foster their pet(s) before considering shelter or rescue placement. Pawster Parents is willing to be the transport connection to ensure animals make it to their extended family or friend's home.

🚨EMERGENCY INTAKE 🚨

We were contacted about a brave little piglet that jumped off a semi truck onto I-70. The thought of her lying on the hot pavement in the blaring sun injured and hurting is just about too much. Her little face is busted up and she might possibly have a broken leg or two. We are already swimming in vet bills from the seizure of animals we took in on Monday and we need your help! Please consider making a donation towards this emergency intake. This baby is headed to the vet now for emergency medical care. Please pray that she will make it, truck jumpers are so fragile and every second counts. We have named our brave little baby Ripley. We literally could not try and save the lives of these animals without your support!

Part of a Wildlife Rehabilitators time is spent helping to educate the public. There are many misconceptions regarding wildlife. One of the more common misconceptions is that wildlife seen out during the daytime MUST be sick. I also hear people say that skunks are aggressive and just go around spraying. Actually skunks do NOT spray without giving a warning. Also skunks will NOT spray without being provoked or feeling threatened. After a skunk sprays it leaves them vulnerable for up to 10 days. Skunks don't see well. They cannot run fast. They do have good hearing and a keen sense of smell.

If you do happen upon a skunk, just move slowly and talk softly. The skunk will see that you pose no threat and it will move on its way.

This baby skunk came into rehab after his mother was shot. She was thought to be sick and aggressive. In fact, she was a hungry, single mom, with little mouths to feed. So she went foraging during daytime hours. The baby was found several days later. Thankfully his finder brought him to us. They also now know a little more about skunks and the benefits of having them hang around.♥️♥️
