This was a fun fact I thought I’d share. The smallest puppy is 1.52 pounds and the largest puppy is 1.92 pounds. Not a far spread like we normally see. Also, the “runt” of the litter was actually .4 pounds bigger than the second biggest boy. It’s crazy how quickly he surpassed his other brother. I didn’t expect that. Ha ha!

Vet visit time! They are 8 weeks and one day old today!

The puppies are almost 8 weeks old! The time has flown by! They will have a vet visit on Friday, October 24th to get their first shot and run a f***l exam with their exam. If anyone would like to get a puppy and you need a health certificate I would need to know before Friday. They need to make a notation in my file.

This is our first litter with Duke. We have missed having babies sooooo much! But, I think this might be our BEST litter yet! The puppies are excellent eaters, are learning manners, mom still nurses them, they are growing quickly and the faces these sweeties make are too much!

Puppies first bath! Weekly we trim their nails and apply pressure to the pads daily. Doing this helps with desensitization. It’s helpful to make handling less stressful and go quicker. They are growing and already running around barking at the big dogs.

Puppies first meal! Turkey is a hit! This is the first of what will be two feedings a day. We are not weaning them. We let momma decide when it’s time. So, as she spends less time nursing we increase their food intake. If we need to supplement I provide them with raw goat milk. That will be the only milk they need for the rest of their lives.

My ducks may NOT be in a row, but my puppies are! 😂 Let’s say a collective, “Awe!” They all have their eyes open now. They know exactly where momma is and try to follow her, or make her run back to them. They do not want to miss a meal! All five are gaining some baby rolls and are super snuggly. We are enjoying them while we have them. 🥰

We are starting to open our eyes! 🥰 Five little puppies grow quickly and we are excited seeing how they develop. From now to the eight week old puppy that can go to your home they have a lot of milestones to cross in a short amount of time. 💙💙💖💙💖
