After 15 wonderful years of breeding Velvet Rags Cattery is closing due to the owner, Angela, having limited mobility issues. So many fluffy babies and purrs to remember and the joy they bring. We have been especially thankful for the friendships we have enjoyed with you all, our customers. The photo is Valentino who we have kept as a pet. We are seeking a loving home for our two ragdoll boys. They are half brothers.

Patchouli ("Choolee") just turned 3 on March 7th. He is the son of Duchess and Cappuccino from Velvet Rags. He is a seal bicolor. He is loving and easy-going. I've always said he's very "zen". He's a gentle, quiet boy who mainly meows because he thinks he'd like to go outside. He will try to get out, so he must be conscientiously watched when doors are opened to the outside. We do let him go in our garage and attic because he thinks that's an adventure and seems to satisfy his wanderlust temporarily.

Kabuki ("Buki") was born on April 11, 2020. His mother is Duchess of Velvet Rags and his father is Aladdin of Soulmate Ragdolls. He is a seal bicolor. He has a very mournful meow and talks more often than his brother. He will meow for food or if he's lonely.

The two are good buddies and will get to running and playing quite energetically at times, but they settle down quickly. They have never been destructive; the worst they have done is tried to sharpen claws on recliners, but they are easily redirected. They do not have any behavioral issues.

They like to lie on the bed together at night when we are watching TV.

We feed them wet food twice a day, and keep dry available at all times in an RFID feeder that is linked to their microchips.

Patchouli likes to hunt bugs, lizards, and such that get into our garage. He is vigilant if he thinks there is a mouse around (we live way out in the country, where the occasional mouse is a fact of life). Kabuki will go after whatever his brother is after.

They have not been around children much, but I feel they would be ok with children who understand how to be gentle with animals.

They have lived around an older dog and an older, timid cat. They are cautiously friendly around dogs that are not aggressive or overly energetic. Patchouli isn't scared of the vacuum, but Kabuki is wary.

They will come with their pet carriers, feeder, food, Cat-It water fountain, and their kitty "nests" where they like to nap.

They are both very healthy and have had consistent veterinary care all their lives. They are up-to-date on all vaccines. Veterinary records and microchip information will be provided.

I hope whoever adopts them will stay in touch and let us know how they are doing sometimes. We have loved them very much, and it is our hearts' desire that they have a happy life in a loving home.
