Wake County Veterinarians we need your help. With the loss of SNAP - NC ( it is 100% official they are closing) we are in dire need of finding more practices who would be willing to work with us on spay/neuter efforts. We have hundreds( possibly close to a thousand) clients wanting to fix their pets right here in Wake County but we are finding the need is so high that capacity is limiting this esp for larger dogs. If your practice would be willing to work with us on this effort by accepting our vouchers or even just hosting a single one day spay neuter day please let us know or if you want to learn more and just see if your might be able partner with us please reach out. Our email is [email protected] or you can just comment call us and I will give your practice a call to chat and see if we might be able to partner.

NOTE: We are not asking for this service for free nor would we ever, our organization is willing to negotiate fair rates for the services we just need practices willing to work together with us.

We appreciate the suggestions for practices but need your help to contact them. If you are currently a client please contact them and ask them for us. We are all volunteers with full time jobs and could use the help to reach out. We’ll be happy to talk to them if they have interest. Thanks.

We are a very small, all-volunteer group. We do not have a public facility for housing animals. We are only able to help community animals when we have available quarantine & foster space.

We currently have no openings and intake is closed.

Just for one day, Wake County Animal Center will eliminate all the adoption fees, inviting our community to take advantage of the Clear the Shelter event and get ready for a day filled with heartwarming connections and the joy of wagging tails.
The Wake County Animal Center is joining the nationwide Clear the Shelter initiative and will open its doors on Saturday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering an adoption experience like no other in hopes of emptying the shelter and finding homes for the pets in care.

Our team will be there volunteering and we will have a booth to assist new pet owners with post adoption support as well as info about the heartworm sponsorships we are offering on all adoptable dogs.

Mid-year update 🎙️

Animals spayed/neutered: 42
Animals rescued/fostered: 11
Urgent vet care (owned animals): 10

We have not pulled any animals from shelters this year, but we have prevented a great number from entering the shelter system. We can't rescue our way out of the shelter overpopulation crisis-- the only way to stop it is through spay/neuter & community education. This is what we are working on. 💗
