Happy National Pet Day!! 🐶🐱
While we love our furry friends everyday, today is a special day to give them extra love and appreciation! Here’s a few things you can do to celebrate the holiday:
🐾 Donate supplies to your local shelter
🐾 Treat your pet to a bath or grooming!
🐾 Come into Mountain Tails and surprise them with some new treats or toys!
🐾 Go through their current toys and discard any that may be unsafe
🐾 Make sure that any dangerous cords/toxins are secure and out of reach
🐾 Verify they are up to date on vaccines and routine appointments
🐾 Make sure the information on their collars and tags are up to date

Hey guys! Brandon here, exciting news!  Today I became a business owner!  After 8 wonderful years managing Mountain Tails Pet Boutique, I was given the opportunity to partner with the Scarpa family as an owner of the business!  Mountain Tails has always been more than just a job to me.  It’s been a space for me to create, serve and connect.  Since the beginning, I was given full creative freedom to dream up and grow the business in any direction I wanted.  From small dreams, like introducing new healthy brands of food; to big dreams, like moving into our big beautiful location at 506 Elk Avenue.  Working at Mountain Tails has given me the opportunity to serve the dog and cat community as well as their beloved humans.  The years I’ve spent inside Mountain Tails have largely been defined by all the connections I’ve made with the Crested Butte community.  It has been an absolute gift to meet, connect and befriend you all.  From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!  This wouldn’t be possible without your kindness, love for animals and support!  If I were to have told 4 year old Brandon, the day he adopted his first dog Chelsea, that one day he would be a pet shop owner, he would have been ecstatic!  Again, thank you all for helping this day become a reality!  I owe a big shout out to the original creator of Mountain Tails, Autumn Clark (Retail Therapy), for dreaming this whole thing up!  To my friend and first boss Evan Kezsbom, thank you for your mentorship and unwavering support!  And lastly, to Mike and Anne Scarpa, thank you for seeing my potential and offering me this opportunity!  We’re all so lucky to have these fury, four legged companions in our lives.  Let's continue to celebrate them!

Our Mountain Tails shop manager, Brandon, who you all know and love, is running in the UTMB OCC ultra-runner 50k (34.1 miles) race this coming Thursday, Aug 31, starting in Orsieres and ending in Chamonix, France. Don’t forget the 11,236 ft of elevation gain.
This OCC race is the 50k category final for the UTMB series. Yes, he’s jetting to France as you read this.

The Navajo Nation has been hit hard by Covid-19. With some of the highest infected rates per capita in the U.S. their social services and health care facilities are being overwhelmed. To make matters worse, many people in the Navajo Nation live without electricity or running water in their homes. In an effort to support this community in crisis, Mountain Tails is donating dog and cat food to the locally created "Navajo Nation COVID-19 Supply Run".
