Boarding: Dogs that stay with us are just incorporate into our daily lives. Depending on the dog and what you the owner are comfortable with, most boarders take one long 1mile+ walk daily, have free tim

e in the yard, and just live with us. We do ask dogs planning a stay be kennel trained, up to date on shots, and have flea/tic medication on board. We use kennels for feeding time and to ensure safety when we need to leave them alone for brief periods. We are an approved foster home for several rescue organizations and have 10+ years of experience boarding dogs. September is Animal Pain Awareness Month. Animals suffer from pain just as people do. Acute pain is obvious and distressing. Chronic pain can be subtle, and masked as “getting old” or “slowing down.” Old age is not a disease, but pain is. If your pet shows these signs of pain, please see your veterinarian for an exam. The good news is that there are many options to treat the various causes of pain in animals, including pain medications, physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, laser therapy, and therapeutic massage.

Trying to keep yourself or your dogs cool?

Directions are written about sleeping cooler but you can use it anytime. A frozen water bottle zip tied to the front of a kennel between dog and fan can be a huge help.

Supplies: fan, freezer, mixing bowl, water, cooling rack (for baking).

Fill the bowl and freeze it, then at night you tip the ice cube out onto the cooling rack with the bowl below to catch the water. You put this contraption between you and a fan. It acts like an a/c or swamp cooler. You know how the wind off the water is always cooler. It does that. Then you just pop it back in the freezer in the morning and repeat.

Starting on August 1, all dogs entering the U.S. (including those that left the U.S. and are returning, and regardless of the country they are coming from) must be:
• healthy upon arrival
• at least 6 months of age
• microchipped
• accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form receipt and required vaccination and veterinary documents.

Additional requirements may apply depending on where the dog has been in the last 6 months and whether or not the dog was vaccinated in the United States.
