Did you know....more pets go missing on the 4th of July than any other day of the year? Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with an up-to-date ID tag, is microchipped, and keep them secured to prevent runaways during firework season.

Today is National Rescue Dog Day! Since we started using our current software, PetPoint, in 2008 we have adopted out over 5,080 dogs into their loving homes! We wouldn't have been able to do this without our amazing adopters, generous supporters, and strong community! Here at KAAS we truly believe adoption is the BEST option!

Make sure to spoil your rescue dog a little more than usual today! 😉🐾❤

When I was stuffing the Buddy Box the other day, someone was driving by and stopped to get out. She said because of the Crete Buddy Box, her dog didn’t go hungry. She then proceeded to hand me $10 to help buy more food for the box. This is why we need the Buddy Box!! Consider donating anything you have or anything your pet doesn’t use anymore (new or used!). Dog food, cat food, toys, blankets, flea and tick medication, and more! If you are in need ,please stop by!

Keep your pets safe during winter weather with these tips from Lincoln Animal Control ⬇️

Warm shelter - Outside dogs must have well-insulated doghouses that have bedding and are free from drafts. Animal Control can help provide a dog shelter if needed. Call 402-441-7900.

Check water bowls – Always provide fresh, clean water for your pets. In cold weather, it's essential to keep their water free of ice. Heated water bowls prevent freezing.

Clear areas - Make sure pets have an area cleared of snow so they can go to the bathroom.

Protect paws – Ice-melting chemicals can irritate and burn the pads of your pet’s feet. Don't allow your pet to lick its feet after it has walked outdoors. Use a damp towel to wipe off feet and underside.

Frostbite? Call a vet – If you suspect your pet has frostbite, contact your veterinarian immediately.
