Finding a good breeder is more important than finding the right puppy. A good breeder will match you with the right puppy, and will without question have done all the health certifications necessary to screen out health problems as much as possible. Don't ever, ever, ever buy a puppy from a pet store. You're more likely to get an unhealthy, unsocialized and difficult to housetrain puppy and will be supporting the cruelty of high-volume puppy mills.

No matter what the temperature is, windchill can threaten a pet's life. Exposed skin on noses, ears and paw pads are at risk for frostbite and hypothermia during extreme cold snaps. For this reason, short-haired dogs often feel more comfortable wearing a sweater—even during short walks. Rock salt and other chemicals used to melt snow and ice can irritate the pads of your pet's feet. "Brook" is a little poodle baby who is so special. Her mama is Pearl, who belongs to our 4-year-old daughter, Graysha. Pearl and Graysha are the best of best friends, and Brook looks so much like Pearl that Graysha latched onto her the second she was born and nicknamed her "Little Pearl." As I'm sure you can guess, she has been extra spoiled and carried and slept with and loved on, and even though we have debated keeping her because Graysha loves her so much, we know Brook will thrive in her forever home, especially if it includes little people!
