I am truly thankful on Thanksgiving eve, reflecting on a long, blessed day filled with promise. The original location in Otoe County is now free from the presence of dogs. And now, a new journey begins for the remaining Great Pyrenees crosses. The last four have escaped the sad and dirty conditions and have found refuge at Epona Horse Rescue. Initially scared and terrified to embark on the trip, tonight they will experience a joyful reunion with friends who were already there. I am filled with gratitude and a sense of blessing.

Update on Bella-- she has a terrible ear infection, however she is not pregnant.

Meet Bella. Brought her home today from original location, she is terrified and confused. She has an ear infection or injury that needed attention. Due to a kind donor, we were able to pull her to get her the veterinary care she needs.

A story about the puppies.

"At that point, what I thought really needed to be done was to offer as much help as we possibly could."

Inspired by a thought-provoking comment on a previous post, I am compelled to take the advice of that gentleman. We have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of horses and dogs, and we need donations to continue this vital work. Over the past few years, vet costs have tripled, and expenses for hay, grain, and food have increased substantially. Moreover, essential costs like utilities, repairs, and maintenance, often overlooked, are significant yet necessary. This week alone, we have paid a $1000 vet bill, a $2500 shelter repair, $1500 for hay, and $150 for dog food on site. There are still 7 females at the location, any of which could be bred, and we are determined to find safe options for all 11 dogs, 7 females, and 4 males, despite the challenges of no water or electricity at that location. Currently, we are caring for 6 of the dogs here. Any donations made to Epona are tax deductible, and we are grateful for your support.
