𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗨𝗦! There is no other way to put it – we are drowning in baby bunnies right now, and most of them should not be here. We are here to help the truly orphaned and injured babies – NOT the ones people don’t want in their yards, or fear their dogs and cats will find. In the past week we have taken in 236 cottontail rabbits and 60% of them could have (and should have) been returned to their nests to be raised by their mothers.

When we have to take care of healthy babies, it means that the ones that truly need us – the orphaned and injured – cannot get the care they need. And at some point very soon, we won’t be able to help others because we will not have the resources to do it. It breaks our hearts to turn away wildlife in need and we need your help so that it doesn’t come to that point. We currently have 677 animals in care right now, most of which need 'round the clock care. Our staff and volunteers are working 22 hours a day right now to save them.

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣:
1. Before you displace any animal from the wild, please call us or reference our website. When we give you advice on an animal, we promise we have the animal’s best interest (and yours) at heart!

2. Instead of removing uninjured baby bunnies from their nest, you can use the top of a cat carrier or a laundry basket to keep out dogs and cats, but allow the mother to reach them. Weigh it down with bricks to make sure dogs (or wind) don’t flip it over. The mom will come back and feed her babies. It will take a little effort on your part but bunnies are only in the nest for 2-3 weeks. The minor, temporary inconvenience to you will save the lives of the bunnies in your yard and the others that will come through our doors that truly need us.

3. 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧!

4. 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗘 money that contributes to food, medicine, and staff time to care for the wildlife we receive. The flood of baby animals so far this spring is unprecedented and is stretching us very thin.
