it’s hard to put into words how much of a loss this truly is… not only for us as a farm, but especially for my grandma June Yahola.
I, unfortunately, only got to see this beautiful boy one time in my life, at the 2012 U.S. Nationals. there aren’t many words I can say… other than that I was in complete awe of what was standing before me, and how lucky I was to be related to the one that bred him.
I remember, though, so many times growing up hearing that Pyro was my grandma’s “gift from God” as she put it. and he truly was… everytime she would talk about him or Pryme Thyme, she will absolutely light up, sometimes in awe or even disbelief that not only was she lucky to have both horses, but also accomplish what a “small-town breeder could only dream of doing.”
I can’t thank Angie Larson Sellman and Janina Merz enough for cherishing Pyro as much as she did… we will always be forever grateful.
If any of you guys have any fond memories of Pyro that you want me to pass along, please don’t hesitate to do so. And thank you, Stuart Vesty for capturing him so beautifully… may he rest in peace.
