Time for a great learning season, with all the assistance you could ask for. A lot has changed since we have shared anything here. Been working hard on getting my farm ready for students, equine and human. What are some topics you would like to address with spring here and horses getting ready to come out of their winter vacations? I will share my journey from 2021-current over the next couple of weeks. Lots of donated time, lots of new horses started, and the chance to do lots of therapy and rehabbing for some great equine athletes. These guys have enjoyed an easy winter and getting back in shape. Grandpa is the farm mascot and you can find him toting around one of his cats, squealing at the herd, removing all of the lids to anything and everything, or trying to make his way into the house. Must be rough to be a 36 year old pony that gets to just enjoy his senior years.

We have accomplished not getting nervous, bolting or bucking when we get approached from behind. Today Ivan showed me he was ready to go to work and just go to work no more baby stuff. That is a mission accomplished this far.

Just a normal day at the farm, one of my favorite helpers working on standing at the mounting block with her beautiful steed Banshee (you might remember her from a year ago), a couple of pretty friesians and my new student Tumbleweed aka Ivan. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Very much a youth suitable guy and you can’t put a price on safety. 14 year old Andalusian/Nakota pony cross 14.1 hh gorgeous mover walk trot lope, we played tag today with a whole bunch of horses in the arena with horses running up behind us/ cutting us off, where I asked him to go he went, tarps are fine, mud/water is fine, he will tie all day long. His only vice was not liking to be sprayed with fly spray and give me 3 more days and he won’t ever think about it again. He has been FUN to have around and is looking for his next friend to explore life with. Mid $x,###.00 he is ready to try out and I can guarantee you will want to take him home. Very smooth honest dude. English or western, pony club, jumping, dressage, competitive trail. He has endless potential for any discipline. He will come with his bridle and can be a package with a saddle.

The new kids on the block. I will say this is one of the coolest crews I have been gifted to work with. 2 Friesian sport horses, and a Nakota pony/Andalusian cross (he is available to the perfect family) . 3 days in and the older mare has been ridden 2 times ba****ck remembering what it is to have a passenger after a 3 year break. Her filly is just as eager as mom to learn and boy do they love doing liberty work. Today I was toted around aboard Fenna walking over tote bags and feed bags without one mis step or even a blink. I really appreciate when horses have had good horsemanship training in their past, prior to being in my hands. It makes the job extra enjoyable and allows the teaching to be that much easier for them. I am grateful and My heart is full. I am really excited to see the progress after our first month together. Wren as you can see is the best helper around ❤️ she is happy to be back at it after raising her last litter of pups.

A few days behind on posting this, but we had great fun this past weekend, my little buddy Rayha came over for a personal weekend clinic working on and learning how to keep her mare feeling her best all the time, she exhibited her 4 year old mare Dutchess to me and everyone at the farm. She bought this little mare as a 2 year old and has done every bit of training with some help from a few awesome coaches. Rayha started with me when she was 6 years old, she is now 12 and very successfully has started and trained this mare over the last two years. We worked on hind end control, crossing over, backing properly, clean gate transitions, speed control and seat stops, stretching, massage, and how to know if her mare is sore . She had the opportunity to use her knowledge on any horses she wanted to work with after showing me how soft she has remained and the trust that she gives to each of these animals. She also got to help me put another successful ride on the filly. Ending the weekend cooling out Solid for me after our workout . This shows me my job as her foundation coach was done right. She is a prime example of what kids will soak in if they are taught in a manner of love and praise. This young lady is going to go as far as her dreams take her. Lord willing she sticks with it she might just be training along side of me one day.

It has been productive around here, whiskey is enjoying everyday exercise without anything on but a string. not sure I can say I ever really put his past aside until I pulled the headstall, the filly got her second official ride being ponied by the bridle-less beast. Solid is enjoying being back to work and boy did I miss spending time on his back. Oliver has about 30 rides since He came home in June and proving to be a brilliant little dude/ ride 30 was also without a bridle. The ponies are just enjoying getting back to work so they can tote little kids around here soon. It is nice being able to ride rain or shine and even enjoyable when it is -2. It’s safe to say We are content.
