Winter is here and all of us at Barks want your pups to stay healthy and safe this winter!☃️

❄️TIPS TO KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE THIS WINTER❄️

🐕‍🦺Bundle Up!
Consider your dog’s age and coat length! Dogs with short hair as well as older and younger dogs are more susceptible to the cold. Build up of snow and ice is common in dogs with longer hair. You can trim the hair to reduce build up but make sure to thoroughly remove and towel dry the snow build up so they don’t remain cold and wet. Dog coats are a great way to keep your dog warm and dry.

🐾Paw Protection and Frostbite
Protect your dog's paws! All dogs can get frostbite on their paw pads. Booties are a great way to keep your dog's paws warm, dry, and safe!
Dogs can also get frostbite on their nose, ears, and tail tip. Limiting your dog’s outside time in extreme cold will reduce the risk of frostbite.

🥶Avoid Thin Ice
Dogs love to run around and sniff but they do not understand how slippery and thin ice can be. Keep a watchful eye on your dog if there is a frozen water body nearby or keep your dog away from the ice completely.

💧Beware of Antifreeze
Antifreeze is sweet-tasting to animals therefore they may lick a puddle of it or lick it off their feet. To prevent this make sure to clean up any spills ASAP and be aware of any suspicious puddles while on walks.
Signs of ingestion include drooling, vomiting, seizures, excessive thirst, panting, lethargy, and a drunken appearance. If you think your dog has ingested antifreeze, it’s important to get to a vet as soon as possible.

🎄Traveling
If you can’t take your dog, make sure they are safe at home with a trusted dog sitter or at a boarding facility. Make sure to pack plenty of extra dog food, treats, medications, and toys incase your dogs stay at a boarding facility is extended due to unpredictable weather, etc.

Full-time or part-time available. Pay based on experience. Flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Groom and style per owner’s instructions and/ or breed standards while ensuring the health, wellness, and safety of furry patrons at all times.
2. Develop long term relationships with pet parents by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy.
3. Perform daily, routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment fun, inviting, clean, and safe.
4. Assist boarding and daycare team members during grooming downtime with baths, nail trims, check-ins/outs.
Requirements:
•Two or more years of experience required, and there is opportunity to continue to apprentice with our current groomer of over a decade.
•Ability to move or lift merchandise, pets and/or equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
•Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.
