Michelle's Bio

Michelle Blount has been a professional
dog trainer for over 15 years; however,
her love and interest in dog behavior
can be tracked back much further. She
was always involved with animals but her
serious behavior interest started at age
13 when she volunteered at an animal
shelter. That experience taught her that
most dogs are turned into animal
shelters, and ultimately

euthanized, due
to behavior problems. So Michelle
decided to dedicate her life to dog
behavior in order to give these
wonderful dogs a second chance. She
continues to support rescue efforts on a
consistent basis. Over the last 15 years there have been
great advances in our understanding of
canine behavior and training; Michelle
had kept up with such advances through
seminars, video, dog training literature,
and discussions with other trainers. She
is heavily influenced by Patricia
McConnell, Gary Wilkes, Sheila Booth,
William Campbell, and a variety of
excellent trainers she has met over the
years. She is also influenced by her
more recent work with horses and
natural horsemanship. Her application of
the same basics of leadership combined
with motivational teaching works as well
for horses as it does for dogs. She now
considers her program a sort of natural
dogmanship method. She believes the
key to a good trainer is not focused on
how they correct but in how they teach. Leadership, motivation, firmness,
fairness, kindness and consistency
produce a happy, well adjusted animal
that is eager to work. Michelle owns Belgian Tervuren and her
husband, Randy, has a German
Shepherd rescue. They also have 3
horses. She has successfully shown in
conformation and obedience trials as
well as having a cert working SAR
dog(currently retired). She also trains
in schutzhund, agility and herding and
has trained many service dogs. To see

She traveled the country from 2007 to
2010 due to her husbands job, working
on her book, occasionally setting up
seminars, training her horses and dogs,
doing a lot of horse camping trips to trail
ride and also showing her dogs when
she gets a chance. After several years of
searching for a farm in TN they found the
right place in Jellico, TN. Now settled in and serving the northern
TN and southeastern Ky area.

Jim and Callahans trip continued after a repair yesterday for their 900 mile cycling trip for jonahs joys in crossville, TN. Please feel free to share around so these buke shops get the attention they deserve and of course jonahs joy does as well

Revolutions cyclery. Big shout out. Brake issues on Callahans bike , Brennan got us rolling again in 20 minutes and Ginger gave me a beautiful alt shay route on Coast. Everyone is in the picture even there sweet "Wiley Coyote"

bumping these up for people to reference with their new pups. This was at our old house back during covid. people couldnt pick their dogs up from out of state, new pups and dogs had already been booked so we did lots of group practice!

Learning to just chill in the house is also a big thing to learn. they can play and have fun but we can also just lay around and chew on their toys. Good habits are developed as babies, and makes for easier to live with adults.

puppies at their potty spot, had to stop and turn on the flash so this is the second part video. We use their potty word (for us its be quick), we go with them and praise them so they know where to go and on cue. This helps so much in the housebreaking process.

Phryne makes me so happy. She went up to the barn today to meet a comedian who came to do a comedy for a cause event and she just has such a sweet temperament. callahan brought some of the pups up in a side by side. Do not overlook genetic temperament and the need for early socialization, acclimation and training.

Our 8 week old german shepherd Puppies riding thru the car wash. Callahan in back seat with snuggles and treats in case anyone needed a jolly routine

We talk about properly preparing out dogs for situations, with a reputable breeder that starts in the whelping box. When we talk about breeders, people throw a bunch of people into a breeder catagory. A real breeder is a lifelong resource and safety net for a puppy who help prepare them before they are even born. Yesterday was a car ride to and from the vet, going thru the car wash, meeting a horse thru a fence(and random fireworks in distance), and investing a new barn being built. Our babies will go home microchipped with my info, on limited registration, people interviewed, contract signed, and i hope I prepared them best as possible. Literally we put in 100s and 100s of hours. Every dog deserves that dedication and commitment!

These puppies are available to approved lifelong homes for companions, akc performance or service dog homes. AKC, OFA hip/elbow cleared parents, Old style (less angulated, lower drive) Large, family friendly, German Shepherds raised by me (a professional trainer) with the avidog and puppy culture method.
