Yesterday we had our 1st spay/ neuter clinic trip of April. 17 cats went (10 females and 7 males) are fully vetted and recovering. We try to do 2 trips a month. The trips are a mix of TNR and adoptables. We can not thank our volunteers enough to make these trips possible.

Here are a few pictures of the TNR cats who went.

As spring is springing so are the potential for lots of kittens springing. TnR is a huge relief for the overpopulation that comes every year. As the cats begin to deliver multiple litters in a season the kittens and their mother's begin to suffer. These moms can get pregnant again while they are nursing the previous litter. As you can imagine this causes the mothers to become drained of nutrition for the current litter while their poor bodies are growing the next. Let's keep this from happening. Please please let's trap and fix these feral mothers so they can live a life rather than just popping out more babies they can't sustain.

We need to find more people to help us trap for our spay/neuter trips. We cannot keep helping the cats without more help.

We've got another s/n trip coming up on Tuesday March 25th. We need drivers for both drop off and pickup. As usual, we have a minivan available so your car doesn't get dirty.

Clinic is in Dunlap and drop-off is 7:30 cst. We expect to have 18 cats - mix of friendly and feral. Pickup is usually after 2pm, but varies depending on how many surgeries they have.

Please PM us or call Deborah.

Thank you

We are looking for a volunteer available during the day that can pick up adoptable cats and take them to pet sense. This would involve setting up the litter box..food and water at the pet sense cat habitat and putting the cats in the condos. Usually 1 or 2 cats at a time. When we have them available and ready to go. We will show you how to do it! Usually takes about 10 minutes to do.

We have a s/n clinic run this Wed March 12th for up to 18 cats / kittens and the kitties need drivers to help get there and back. We do these trips on average twice a month (roughly every 2 weeks). These trips are critical for our TNR, barn cat and adoption programs. No kitties leave us before being fixed.

Morning drop off is 7:30am in Dunlap (straight down 127 to 111). Minivan available in lake tansi to make transporting easy. Pickup at 6:45.

After surgery pickup and return to Crossville sometime between 2 and 4 (will call usually 90 minutes before).

Contact us here or reach out to Deborah directly. Thank you!

Mercedes is ready to find a home! She may be going to pet sense this week!
This 1ish year old girl is super affectionate and always always wants attention. She loves her wet food and we just dialed it back a little (i know! How can we do that to her!!)
But her p**p was getting a little soft with all the rich wet food.
We just wanted to get a little more weight on her. But she is ready !
She would do well either in a home with other cats or by herself with all the love on her. She doesn't care either way so long as she can rub her face on you and make you hers!

Adoption donation is 75.00

This guy is all cheek. Big Tuna is a four year old hunk of sweetness. He weighs about 12 pounds. He wants to play with the other cats even though he is twice their size. He is fostered at Central Bark and loves to hang out there. When dogs get too over whelming he politely puts himself up on a shelf or the washing machine until things calm down.
What a giant charmer!

Millicent is 6ish months old and she just made her pet sense debut today! This playful girl is also affectionate and sweet. She can hold her own with the other cats when playing and likes to make her little voice heard when she's in kitty battle. Fierce little red head!
She's fixed and vaccinated. Dewormed..flea treated and microchipped.
Adoption donation is 75

Its taken us a while to get the 2024 numbers. We've been busy starting 2025 yay!

Total cats TNR : 292
Total Barn Cats placed from the shelter: 37

We are so grateful for all the help we get from YOU.
We are grateful for our foster homes who selflessly keep their homes open to house these cats. Some can only do 2 at a time. Some can do 10 at a time. Every single home that fosters is a life saver.
Ever person that donates to our funds even 1.00 has helped save these lives.
Every volunteer that has driven cats to the vets have saved these lives.
If you have donated off our wishlist, Brought cat supplies to our drop off location, you have saved these lives.
And without our vet of record Homestead Animal Medical Clinic, PLLC and the staff there we would not be able to help any more cats. We can't get medicine without them. We can't get diagnosis on all the crazy stuff we see in these wonderful cats without them. We can't call the vet and ask pretty please can you fix another crazy feral at the last minute, without them.

Sesquatchie valley low cost spay neuter clinic helps us fix large groups of cats and kittens.
A time for Paw spay neuter clinic for helping us get even more cats fixed.

2025 is starting our with a bang as we are already at 30 cats on our intake list this year. So when you are annoyed with the cold and miserable winter weather right now just remember that you helped 538 cats last year.
YOU.

So here is a picture of our little dingaling Byzantium. And thank you Dr Holt for running medicine for his ears over to his foster on YOUR time.

This is a story about a special kitten. His name is Byzantium. Aka dingaling. Aka ding d**g.
Aka super cute love bug.
This guy is not currently available and we aren't sure he can really go up for adoption.
We got him as a kitten from a colony we were trapping and fixing. Most of his litter died and Byz has had all manner of troubles in his short life. Upper respiratory infection. Viral infection. Ring worm. He had an ear polyp removed. He walks like his hip is arthritic and he has a perpetually snotty nose. He has had so many issues we had him tested for fiv and surprise!!! He is actually negative!
This kitten has so much personality!
We wondered why his food dish was always so filthy.. wellll...he picks his crunchies up and tossed them in his water bowl then eats it from there. So now we make him " cereal " we put water in his crunchies and that's how he likes it.
He wants to be friends with everything. He loves his toys. He rubs against every surface.
He may now have an ear infection. Surprise surprise.
But his foster mom just shrugged her shoulders and cleaned out the ears and started some more meds. Why are we posting about this? Because look at this cute little block head!
He's had everything against him but look how happy he is! He's never in a rotten mood and nothing gets him down..
Be like Byz!
