Turbo is really starting to understand the importance of taking it easy and enjoying some downtime. It's so important for our dogs to learn how to handle boredom because if they're always on the go, it can actually lead to bigger issues like anxiety and stress as they get older.
That's why we make sure to introduce this concept early on in our puppy program. Teaching them to appreciate inactivity from a young age helps them grow into well-balanced and happy dogs.

With the start of the new year, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the incredible support you've shown K9 Acres. When I started this journey, It was a big dream and took a lot of trust from y’all and our furry friends, and it's because of each and every one of you that I've come so far.

To the wonderful community of clients, thank you for trusting us with your beloved dogs. Whether you've boarded your dog with us or enrolled them in our training programs, your faith in our services means the world. Thanks to you, many dogs have become well-behaved companions and have enjoyed a safe and fun environment while you're away. Your support keeps us going and inspires us to do even more!

Looking ahead, I'm so excited about what's to come for K9 Acres. With your continued support, I know we can reach even greater heights. We're committed to making a difference in the lives of dogs, and with your help, we can do so much more.

New Years Eve/Day right around the corner! Here’s a couple reminders to make sure everyone (our pups included) have a safe and Happy New Years!

•Desentize! I will always recommend working your pup through stressful situations and to set them up for success! It creates such a better experience for you, and your pup. If you need help or tips on where to start, PLEASE REACH OUT! I will gladly help!

•Board your pup. If you’re going to be gone a while or out of town and are unsure of the wellbeing of your pup. Check to see if anyone has last minute boarding available. (Our boarding is limited but still available!)

•DON’T drink & drive! For your safety, your peers’ safety and for your pup at home. If you plan to drink, make sure you have a friend who plans to drive (sober) or call an Uber! A few extra dollars is worth keeping your life and making sure you’re home for your pup!

• Make sure your pup is inside before the firework show starts! While we absolutely love fireworks and the beautiful displays, our pups don’t understand what’s happening. It can be an extremely stressful time for them so much so that they could jump a fence to “get away”. So please make sure to keep your pets inside (preferably a good kennel)

•Make sure your pup is microchipped and the information is updated! Unfortunately if your pup does get out, make sure that whoever finds them can take them to a vet to get your information so you get your pup back safe and sound!

• As fun as it may seem, if your pup hasn’t been desensitized to a crowded gathering or fireworks please don’t bring them to your local fireworks show.

• if you know your pup may be destructive (even while crated) try drowning out the fireworks with some calming music or white noise while the fireworks are going.

•as a last resort and if the above options aren’t compatible with your pup, reach out to your vet for proper medication recommendations.

Diego’s first day of daycare!

He has the cutest face and his personality is just as sweet! Diego is a 18 month old German shepherd mix who is looking for his furever home! He’s a very very playful boy but sometimes can be a bit too rough when playing (which we will be helping him work on). He has developed some separation anxiety (which we are working with him on as well). He’s crate and potty trained. Diego loves car rides and is a great traveler, great on a leash and loves walks, very velcro like and wants to be right by your side. Has a lot of energy, but can also relax and nap all afternoon. Would do best with another dog of his size and no cats.

Joey has been with us for a couple weeks now and he’s dealt with what we like to call “Stranger Danger”. Joey is not a fan of any strangers, so with the help of Coral’s brother we helped him through it and turned into a fun game! Sully firework sound desensitization

Sully has struggled with loud noises, but we're working hard to help him overcome his fears. By playing loud noises such as fireworks going off on the TV and rewarding him, he's gradually getting more comfortable. Maya’s trip to Atwood’s

A superstar in the making! Maya had an amazing first outing to Atwoods Ranch & Home Goods! We spent our time playing engagement games and building her confidence, setting the stage for her obedience training as she grows older. She handled all the distractions like a champ, especially when people were around (big shoutout to Carlos for helping with that!).
