Gives me goosebumps!

”The famous Italian diver Enzo Maiorca dove into the sea of ​​Syracuse and was talking to his daughter Rossana who was aboard the boat. Ready to go in, he felt something slightly hit his back. He turned and saw a dolphin. Then he realized that the dolphin did not want to play but to express something. The animal dove and Enzo followed.
At a depth of about 12 meters, trapped in an abandoned net, there was another dolphin. Enzo quickly asked his daughter to grab the diving knives. Soon, the two of them managed to free the dolphin, which, at the end of the ordeal, emerged, issued an "almost human cry" (describes Enzo). (A dolphin can stay under water for up to 10 minutes, then it drowns.)
The released dolphin was helped to the surface by Enzo, Rosana and the other dolphin. That’s when the surprise came: she was pregnant!
The male circled them, and then stopped in front of Enzo, touched his cheek (like a kiss), in a gesture of gratitude and then they both swam off.
Enzo Maiorca ended his speech by saying: “Until man learns to respect and speak to the animal world, he can never know his true role on Earth."

We are officially at the very beginning of summer… the heat indexes are sky high… the rain chances are 30-60%… that means NO RAIN… but 300%% HUMIDITY!! Welcome to summer in the South!

Memorial Day Weekend BIG fence project at the ranch!

We have needed to replace the fence between the house yard and pasture for MANY years but like so many projects on the ranch lots of pieces have to be put into place before such things can happen.

We are very pleased with the progress but it has come with much sunburn, sweat and even tears, thankfully no serious flesh wounds or band aids. (Although we aren’t finished yet…lol)

This is a post of deepest gratitude…

1. We are forever grateful to the many men and women that gave their lives for our freedom 🇺🇸to be able to do our work in peace without threat of enemy gunfire or being bombed. I will never take that for granted.

2. For my amazing husband Erich G. Loewer whose work ethic is unmatched to anyone I know!! He has strength, skills and patience for which we could not have begun this project without!

3. God provided the materials at an affordable cost so we could begin. This was almost a miracle!

4. God provided the post hole digger implement borrowed from a neighbor that saved us the labor beyond our physical ability.

5. Thank You Lord! The weather has been perfect to get this done, the dirt not too hard or too soft but with rain chances increasing so we had to get going!

6. 🙏🙏The tractor has been reliable and started every time! IFYKYK!!!

7. 🙏🙏🙏We had plenty of panels to be able to create a temporary fence to complete this section of the fence.

God is so good and it is a privelege to work with our hands. We have full hearts 🥰 and full bellies, we are blessed beyond anything we deserve!

Our Rotarian of the week for November 28th was Elliot Dore. His program was the St. Michael School Robotics Team.

The students gave a presentation of how their Tournaments & Challenges are carried out and what their Innovation Project is for this season’s competition.
They placed first in Robot Performance, and 1st Overall Champions Award at the recent FLL Lafayette Regional Qualifier out of 14 teams. They also earned 1st Overall Champions Award at the FLL Louisiana State Robotics Tournament out of 63 teams. They placed 3rd at the National World War II Museum Robotics Challenge and received the Referees Award for sportsmanship. 

They are gearing up for their next competition and in our opinion are ready and prepared for the challenge!
We congratulate the St. Michael School Robotics Team in all that they have accomplished, and we look forward to their future results!

Baby it’s cold outside! ❄️⛄️

Many people think of donkeys as hardy, low-maintenance “small horses.” However, while they have similarities, donkeys are a completely different species and as such have a different physical, mental, and emotional make-up.

As the weather gets colder, it’s important to remember that donkeys are more sensitive to changes in temperature than their equine friends. They don’t grow a winter coat like horses and their hair is less waterproof, so they require shelter from the elements (like a run-in shed or a waterproof blanket). Being stoic animals, they also won’t show signs of discomfort and hypothermia until they are very sick.

Remember that every animal is different depending on age, breed, and other health conditions, so be sure with your primary veterinarian to address any concerns or questions!

Horse Camp Week 1 is done!
