...This is my cousins story, please read and share...
To say she is a fighter, and a survivor is an understatement. This is a story about Jessika Lile. She is a mother of two Farrah (15) and Skylar (9), a widow, an animal lover, and a great friend.
It was in the summer of 2017 when Jessika caught sight of a change occurring in her body. After a visit with her family practitioner, she was advised to get her first mammogram at the age of 38. It was on November 20, 2017, when Jessika was diagnosed with breast cancer. Rather than allow the cancer to spread, she made the immediate decision to receive a mastectomy. On December 29, 2017, after a successful procedure, she received the wonderful news…No evidence of the disease.
It was only four years later when Jessika had to face another obstacle in life. Tragically on January 3, 2021, she lost her husband, Nic Lile, a Marine Corp Veteran. Nic was not only her husband, but he was also her best friend and biggest supporter during her fight and recovery from her initial diagnosis of breast cancer. Her husband had his life selfishly taken from him by a stranger they welcomed into their home. The murder of her husband occurred in front of Jessika with their youngest daughter asleep upstairs in her room. As heartbreaking and tragic the death of her husband was, Jessika fought tirelessly to avenge her husband’s death. In January of 2022, the sentencing for her husband’s murderer allowed her to put some peace of mind to rest.
Through all this pain, it didn’t seem things could get much worse until 5 years and 2 days after being free of breast cancer, Jessika’s diagnosis had taken a sharp change for the worse. January 19, 2023 she received word from her doctors that her cancer had returned. Only this time, the doctors had much more catastrophic news. Jessika was now diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer of the Liver. The more recent prognosis has shown the cancer has now metastasized to three places in her bones, her lymph nodes, and her right lung.
Due to her pre-existing condition Jessika has been unable to obtain any life insurance to ensure her girls will be taken care of. Our goal is to raise as much money as possible to help with any medical expenses she may incur and to set up a fund for both of her daughters, Farrah and Skylar (who will be left with no surviving parents). Please help us as we find a way to support Jessika and her daughters through another devastating challenge fighting this wicked disease called cancer. ANY amount will help. https://gofund.me/8f93eaf4 A portion of the proceeds , not to exceed $5000 will be used to put on the event.
