We are a foster-based dog rescue with foster homes in Northwest Indiana & the Chicago area. And the CPR Fund has done just that.

About CPR Fund

The CPR Fund K9 Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to ending the needless euthanasia of adoptable pets. Our all-volunteer network of administrative personnel, transporters, event planners, grant writers and, last but certainly not least, foster families works tirelessly to decrease the euthanasia rate in northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area. Incorporated in 2

002 by a small group of EMT's and paramedics, the CPR Fund went straight to work rescuing dogs set to be euthanized at local shelters. All rescues receive the best veterinary care available and are placed in loving foster homes until their forever families are found. While in foster care, CPR Fund's rescues are housebroken, crate-trained, socialized, leash trained and taught basic house manners. This regimen may seem a little too demanding for dogs that are often scared and confused, abused and neglected but the reality is, all this training improves their confidence and makes the eventual transition to their forever home much less stressful for both dog and owner. Over the years the faces may have changed but the mission remains the same- save adoptable pets from needless euthanasia. All Smokey Jo wants for Christmas is a home to call his very own. This senior guy was surrendered due to no fault of his own. He was listed as a Havapoo, is a lap dog with Velcro tendencies and would make a great companion for someone looking to snuggle. If you can’t adopt Smokey Jo, can you give him a share?

of the two puppy litters we had, Star is the last one still in the rescue. He’s a gorgeous Boston/ mixed breed Terrier. Star was born on the 4th of July, has been in foster care since he was 7 weeks old and desperately wants a FUREVER home for Christmas. Miss Molly here…She’s sad another Monday has come and she still doesn’t have an application for adoption.

She’s a 3 legged diva who is fully housebroken good with kids and other dogs. Molly is a perfect medium

Congratulations today to the wonderful families who adopted our sweet mama Rosie and our fun loving pup Indy.

Rosie was greeted with a welcome sign in the door, a new bed and plenty of toys.

Indy shown on the left in the bottom photo was given a new name TANYA to match her new brother Tucker. How cute is that 🎶🤠

Sweet Molly is on the mend ❤️‍🩹 12 days post surgery, 12 days of crate rest and separation from the other dogs, 12 days of healing. Soon we will be able to get the rest of her medical needs addressed and get her ready for her FUREVER home. We can’t wait for that, she’s going to be a great best friend!!

Miss Molly had her amputation on Thursday and after spending a night at the vet, she returned to her foster home. Over the next few weeks, she will need lots of rest and recovery while her body heals. Once healed, we’ll continue on with the remaining medical care to get her ready for adoption. “Hello! Just wanted to share this picture of Maverick with you. After a nice 45 minute walk, this guy didn't want to go back to the house, so he played "dead" in the middle of our street (no danger, we live on a off the path street without through traffic). All 95lbs of him in the street! He is such a drama dog. We couldn't love him more. He is such a good boy and so funny. We are so thankful for him!!”

The 3️⃣ little kittens lost their mittens so they bagan to cry 😿

Meet Ash (female) Diesel (male) and Cinder (male) These sweet babies joined our rescue last week and are around 8 weeks old. They are safe and together in a foster home until we get them vetted and ready for adoption. In the mean time, stay tuned for their adventures and shenanigans.

UPDATE: Molly had her amputation today. She will be staying overnight at the vet. We’ll post again when she’s back in jersey foster home. Thank you to all who have donated (and if you haven’t yet, it’s not too late)

Happy Monday! We want to introduce a new sweet girl and share her story so please read to the end. Meet Molly Here's what we know...this little girl is approximately 2- 3 years old, and was hit by a car about a month ago. The nice woman who hit her, took her to the vet immediately. The vet assessed her injuries and checked her for a microchip (there wasn’t one). The woman then took her home and tried to find her people. Molly was severely emaciated when she was found so it was no surprise that owners could not be found. When she could not find them and was informed by the vet the cost of treating her, she contacted our rescue for help. We immediately took her in and made an appointment for evaluation with our vet. The good news is she is HW negative and her f***l was clear. The bad news is she has severe nerve damage in her front leg and it will require amputation. We have that scheduled for this Thursday and it is estimated to cost $1100. Once her amputation has healed, then we will need to send her back to surgery to be spayed. Molly is beautiful and sweet despite her current disadvantages. We have no doubt she is going to make a full recovery and have a great life. That being said, we could use your help. This was an unexpected rescue athat we were not prepared for but there was simply NO way we were going to say no. We are very grateful for that was given to Molly before she came to us. If you are able to make a donation to help us with these unexpected medical expenses, we would be so grateful and so would Molly.
