Baxter (right) found his forever home today. This is his new mom with new fur sister Millie. (Dad was taking the picture). Thanks for adopting again! And special thanks to his foster family who took such good care of him.

Poor foster Binx has had a rough time since coming into rescue. He went to the vet on Tuesday and they discovered he had a broken jaw. We were fortunately able to get him into a dental surgeon yesterday. The surgeon said his mouth was one of the worst she has seen. It turns out he had 2 fractures. Because he had so much bone loss from infection, they performed a mandibulectomy....they shortened his lower jaw. He had 15 teeth left that were all removed and he had 2 very large fistulas. The vet will send photos which we will share. He needs prayers or positive thoughts. He had a rough night last night.

Welcome Foster Zac
Zac takes the honor of being MWDR first rescue dachshund for 2025. What a handsome boy. He’s 3 and 1/2 years old small and a standard about 24 lbs. - but a bit overweight. Zac will be fostered in Indiana. Please don’t submit an application now we need some time to assess his needs. We do know that he must be an only dog.

Foster Sadie is staying with her foster mom Donna. She is another sweet girl that had to be an only dog. We don’t have any foster homes with no dogs so we posted we were looking and Donna submitted a foster app. Congrats to Sadie and Donna.

This sweetie is alum Petunia. She is 8 years old and was adopted last year. Well guess what???
III Dachshunds Brewing has picked her to be on label of their Rootbeer. The new label will most likely come out in Spring 2025. We are thrilled that they thought of Rescue and wanted one of our Dachshunds. We are bias but they are the cutest! Congrats to forever mom Brenda and alum Petunia.
