Whether seeking improved quality of life for your pet or training for water rescue certification and everything in-between, our state-of-the-art facilities and customer-oriented staff are here for you. The concept for the Canine Fitnes

s Center came from a personal need. Our dog Shadow tore her meniscus in February 2000. Our veterinarian recommended an exercise regimen including swimming in an attempt to stave off surgery. After an exhaustive search, we could not find a facility that provided aqua-exercise for dogs within 50 miles of our home – so we decided to build one. If you are lucky enough to have a dog, you are lucky enough. Services

Canine Aqua Exercise
The benefits of aqua-exercise are quite amazing. After a dog has had surgery to repair a broken bone or torn ligament he will often be reluctant weeks later to use the affected leg. Over a number of swim sessions the dog will begin to use the affected joint more readily, improve mobility, regain muscle tone and return to pre-operative fitness levels and normal use of the leg. Canine Acupuncture
Acupuncture has probably been used to treat animals since the origin of this mode of treatment. There are very old engravings of cows and horses on which the acupuncture points of these animals are pinpointed. Because the build of man and of animal differ, the location of the acupuncture points and the path of the meridians are also different. But the technique and the effect are the same as in man, and so veterinary acupuncture can be a very valuable kind of treatment. Underwater Treadmill
The Canine Fitness Center features the Ferno AquaPaws underwater treadmill system. This cutting edge equipment utilizes the water to optimize conditioning sessions based on the individual needs of the dog. Variables can be adjusted to emphasize protected weight bearing and use of a limb, or to focus on strengthening, range of motion, or cardiovascular endurance. Canine Massage
Canine massage offers many health benefits including:

Increased circulation
Improved muscle tone
Less time required for healing
Canine massage can also help:

Modify behavior problems caused by anxiety and depression
Prevent injury
Improve sleep and eating patterns

I can’t say enough good things about this facility. I’ve used them since the mid-2000s.
I have been taking my senior (11yr) lab here weekly for the past year and a half as a means of increasing his muscle mass which was slowly deteriorating as he aged. My vet, as well as myself, are thrilled with the results that we began seeing after just the first couple of months. Aside from the sugared face, he does not look or act his age and his spine is no longer visible. Most importantly, coming here is the highlight of his week. It makes me so happy to not only see him having a blast but knowing that it is keeping his aging body in good condition as well. The owner keeps the grounds and the entire facility pristine as well as very bright & welcoming. The owner has also done a wonderful job training his staff. The staff is knowledgeable, accommodating, personable and does very well handling my dog. I enjoy chatting with them and I trust them with my dog. I work in a dog related field and recommend this place to everyone. Today my good friend brought her 11-month-old German shepherd dog for the first time. He is a nice boy but highly energetic as most are at that age. Both Justin & Austin worked together as a team to get him accustomed to the pool. Although he was anxious at first and not fond of the idea, they persisted professionally with their equipment, giving him frequent short breaks and they had him happily fetching a toy, on his own, in no time! My friend was very pleased with the way it all went. She already signed up for another visit. I recommend you try this place whether for therapy or just for fun, it’s a great place with great people. Both you and your dog(s) will love it.
