🐾 Attention Dog Owners! 🐾

Tick Alert! This season, ticks are out in full force and they’re the worst we’ve ever seen. Don’t let your guard down, even if you have a fenced yard. These pesky parasites can lurk in the grass, waiting for a chance to hitch a ride on your furry friend (or yourself!).

No dog is safe from the risk - whether they’re city slickers or country canines. It’s crucial to ensure your dog’s flea and tick prevention is up to date. Prevention is not just a convenience; it’s a necessity for your pet’s health and well-being. Prevention is the first line of defense. They kill the ticks before they are able to stay latched on and transmit diseases.

And there’s more: we also offer a Lyme vaccine for Lyme disease. While it doesn’t replace regular flea and tick prevention, it adds an extra layer of protection for your dogs against this serious illness. If your dog has never had the vaccine before, it will need to be boostered in 3-4 weeks after the initial one.

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Let’s keep our four-legged family members safe and happy!

🐶 Puppy Parents, It’s time for a friendly reminder! 🐾

We’ve noticed that some of our adorable puppies are missing their monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. These treatments are crucial for keeping your little ones healthy and happy!

Heartworms can be deadly and are transmitted by mosquitoes, which are active all year round. Fleas and ticks are not just a nuisance; they can carry diseases harmful to both pets and humans.

Here’s what you can do:

• Check your calendar: Has it been a month since your puppy’s last dose?
• Stay on schedule: Consistent monthly treatment is key to effective prevention.
• All-in-one options: There are products that treat all three.
• If you’re not sure what you’re giving, we can help!

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Prevention is easy and much less costly than treatment. Come to FVAH and let’s keep those wagging tails parasite-free!

Together, we can protect our puppies and keep them growing strong and healthy! 🌟

April is heartworm prevention month.
Not only is heartworm prevention cheaper than treating for heartworm disease, but treating dogs is very painful for them. It's not worth skipping monthly prevention.

Have you heard? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
