If you haven't seen this. Some great improvements for the upcoming US Open 2025.

As many of you know, we have had refusal issues with Dogwalks in the undercover arena at the US Open for the last two years.

We are implementing several changes at the 2025 event to resolve many of the potential reasons competitors and judges have suggested are creating this issue.

Schedule changes
• The majority of Agility classes will be scheduled in the Main arena.
• The only Agility class scheduled in the undercover arena will be Round 1 of the UKI National finals. (We have swapped Round 1 and 2 class types, with Round 2 now the Jumping class.).
• Round 1 will be run in four big rings in the early evening, which should resolve any “rising sun” issues. The course design will also position the dog walk, running lengthways towards the middle of the arena.
This time change and Dogwalk position will significantly reduce any effect caused by the horizon.
• The Challenger class will now follow the rules of the WAO Speedstakes (no Dog Walk or Seasaw).
• On Tuesday, four dog walks will be set up in the undercover arena for anyone to acclimatize their dog to the Dog walks in this environment.

Ring set up
• The barriers around the edge of the undercover arena, will now have netting to reduce visual distraction from outside of the arena.

Dogwalk.
• We strongly believe that the Galican Softline Dogwalk is the safest contact surface on the market. As well as the benefit of the impact reducing surface, the planks are also heavier, more substantial, and less likely to move/vibrate and therefore reduce any confusion for the dog with the Seesaw.
• Therefore, the contacts will be Softline at the 2025 USO (and WCO).

Galican has been extremely helpful and has agreed that;
• The Dogwalk uprights will be painted a dark colour with matt paint to reduce glare and distinguish the uprights from the Seesaw base.
• The metal pin used to connect the planks will be painted the same colour as the rubber to reduce any confusion for the dogs.

We want to thank everyone for their advice and thoughts on this issue and look forward to seeing everyone in November.

Please note that this is separate from the ongoing research on the Dog Walk. If any conclusions or rule changes are ascertained from the research before the USO, we will endeavor to incorporate them at the event. UKI will post an update in the coming days on developments in the Dog Walk research plan.

Oh WOW!! This L2 Jumpers course was a challege and had dogs NQing left and right. We bobbled the opening (person videoing forgot to start the video) and had to restarted and then PEAK smashed in down. Way yo go Peaky

ISC - L2 JUMPERS.

This one felt good. 🤩Some good challenges put up by Judge Jordi Baro and we got through it clean. Slight bobble at #8 but otherwise it felt smooth. YAY Peaky we needed this one. 💯👍🤩🙌

Great group of competitors here and a wonderful supportive vibe. Gotta love that 🥰❤️

WOO HOO!! We finally got all our s**t together and nailed the L2 Jumpers wth a clear round - zero faults. 🙌😍🤩

Man it felt so good to knock this one out. Slight bobble at #8 Jump but otherwise I was super proud of this run. Video to follow

Today's ISC course maps designed and judged by Jordi Boix Baró. I really enjoyed them. Super FUN 😍🤩❤️

Plus of course the wonderful vibe and music there at Bratty Paws Dog Plex. Cannot beat the relaxed atmosphere of an ISC trial. ❤️❤️

So in other news PEAK did indeed loose her ever living mind. She was as high I have ever seen her. Cold 🥶 weather? Not sure, but she was like a bull at a gate.

Definitely some really nice bits in her runs but it was hard to hold onto her. And my usual "side" cue seemed to be B-R-O-K-E-E-D-E-D. 🤪😆🙄

Not all runs go to plans and sometimes you just have fix s**t and try to pick back up and run with it.

EEK. Another great run by PRIME for a second place on an A1 course designed by Jordi Boix Baro❤️🤩

This is just her 3rd trial on a standard agility course doing all the contacts. And she nailed them all. YAY!! Totally stoked with how she is handling it all. 🙌💯🥰😍

In other news, PEAK has lost her damn mind. Poor Peaky. 🤪🙄. Her arousal level has shot through the roof with this cold weather. 🥶

I guess this is what is called a winter storm. However, is 71° outside and the storm has just hit us. Just finished our walk with the dogs and I'm in shorts and a tshirt. So funny that the temperatures will drop into the 30s after the storm passes by. Hopefully everyone north of us copes with the freezing temps in the next few days.

My AMAZING Synge turns 11 years of age. 😍❤️😍❤️

There are just not enough words to describe what an fabulous dog she is. The agility accolades are just a part of who she is. And OMG these podium photos are just the ones taken in the last year. WOW!!

She has been my ride or die through some heavy s**t in my life and has made me get up and get going. She could have been an even greater agility dog but sometimes life has other plans and directions you need to concentrate on and that's fine with me.
