Copiah Animal Shelter is a nonprofit, volunteer-based, limited intake animal welfare organization supporting Copiah County, Mississippi (MS) and surrounding communities. CAS shelters and cares for homeless animals for adoption into loving homes. Adoption donation fees vary and include age-appropriate shots and spay/neuter. CAS is located at 27084 Highway 51 (at Hwy. 27), Crystal Springs, MS 39059

Everyone please share.

We are completely packed out along with getting at least 5 -10 calls a day about intakes with strays .,
I want to be able to help them all but without help I cannot find homes for the ones all ready to go!

Puppies all ages.,
Young Adults
All different sizes and colors and breed.

Meadow! Our pet of the week. She is a pit mix, petite in size but also still growing. Around 7 months. She gets along with most dogs. Warms up with time. She gets along with kids. Pet of the Week!! Allie Bug., our jolly giant! Allie is a pit mix., spayed and up to date on shots. She’s about a year old., maybe a little less. She came in to us through animal control, she was found as a stray when she was a smaller pup. She has been growing and patiently waiting on her big day! She is sweet and playful just as any other puppy. She loves to grab anything in her mouth when she’s excited., sometimes has even been my croc 🤣

She makes me laugh everyday and would be so much joy into your home. With the proper training she would be such a great girl! Come meet her and give her a chance.

Buttercup., why do you fill me up with so much ❤️
She’s the most soft gentle loving little girl, she is a terrier mix, not quite a year old yet. Spayed and up to date on shots!
Now she’s just waiting on her forever family!! She would do good in a home with children of any ages.

Pet of the Week is Sophie, she is a small terrier mix, female, spayed/up to date on vaccines. She’s a playful spunky little girl who’s so over being at the shelter. She needs someone to allow her to cozy up on the couch with and take naps.

Delilah got her second chance ., she found the perfect couple to welcome her into there home! Work from home and no kids, she’s definitely going to be surrounded with love and full attention. Happy trails sweet girl!

These boys love play time! They finally jumped in the pools today and loved it!
The Potter Pups ., Harry is the yellow,Ron is the brown. Malfoy and Snape are the black and white boys. Up to date on shots and fixed ready to get there adoption day!

The volunteering post exploded so thank you all for that. A lot of people interested but no forms have been filled out yet. I will post the link in the comments so we can start scheduling days for some visitors for these babies.

Hello Crystal Springs and Copiah County! We need your help. We have been at full capacity for some time and with all our current residents, we NEED your help and time. We are asking for assistance to keep the dogs and puppies stimulated and socialized properly. We need you to grab a leash and meet up with us and take a dog for a walk or out to play in one of our yards. They need more human interaction than one person can give all of them in a normal work shift.
You don’t need to be a dog trainer or pro dog walker to do this, just have the physical capability and a good heart to provide some structure, guidance and love. We can match you up with a dog or two to walk or some puppies to play with if you prefer. All you have to do is show up! Call 601-954-6447 to set up a time. So proud to say our Annie girl went to her forever home today!! She stood out on one of the post from Pawty Breakers LLC (so thank you all for that) and they came in and swooped her up! Happy ending for our girl!

Two of our dogs ventured out to the Chautauqua Park today., and a stroll through downtown 🥰

Our dogs have been blessed to have someone willing to work with them in ways that will help get them adopted. Check out there page! 🐾

First pick was Miss Capella., she came in as a litter of 5 girls. 2 left quickly and 3 remained and they still are with me going on 2 years in august. Very shy timid and unsure of anything out of routine. She never bonding with a male before took a huge step and absolutely blew me away with the work and results we are getting with her.

Then was Annie., she’s a beautiful German Shepard. We will never know her whole story she’s got a lot of love to give, she seems to be a happy girl all around. Knows basic commands and cannot wait to see what she learns and achieves with Tony.

Pet of the Week this week our the baby pups!

We have the Harry Potter crew, I have 4 boys left. They are approximately 9 to 10 weeks old, lab mix.

We have two bigger pups eager to play and learn at this age. Farrah is mix breed id say has hound in her somewhere. Dozer, Meadow and Allie are your black pit mix !!

Also have a few smaller to medium dogs all ranging from a year to two years old so not babies but still very young.

Who doesn’t love a giant lap dog 🤣
These boys were surrendered over hoping to find better care for them but sadly after we got them all fixed up and completely healthy they have sat for months waiting for the right person. They would do great together or separated but I’d like to see them both get to go together somewhere. After all this time they aren’t the happiest because they have been cooped up wanting out more. It’s getting hot outside and the fur babies would love some small pools for their cages. If you are running through dollar general or Walmart and can spare $10 please think of us and consider getting a pool for the doggos. Dixie didn’t give us a chance to clean this one out before trying to dive right in. She loves the water and would love a pool to relax in while outside. The small pools will be perfect for the individual cages.
