Happy birthday, Miles. Miles's heart is full of kindness as he thinks of the Cuba Animal Shelter every year instead of presents for himself. Even though Miles was tied up with school today, his mom brought the gifts along with their dog Daisy, adopted from the Cuba shelter as a puppy. Thank you so much Miles. Cinder is ready to meet potential adopters. She will be spayed on December 17 and can go home after she has recovered at the shelter. In the meantime, we are accepting visitors to meet her. She is a lab mix, approximately 8-10 months old, and weighs 40 lbs. She is super sweet, appears housebroken, and will make a great family pet.

These two dogs were found in Cuba last night, and a Good Samaritan intervened and brought them to safety. Although the circumstances are questionable, one dog has a microchip. We have left a message for the owner to contact us. In the meantime, if you know where these dogs belong, please let us know. The brown and white one is a male, and the white one is a female.

What was meant to be a routine vet visit for vaccinations after Polly’s stray hold, turned out to be a beautiful blessing in disguise.

Drs. KC and Melanie Swope were instantly smitten with her charming personality and decided to make Polly a member of their family. Polly has quickly adjusted to life with her new fur friends and is thoroughly enjoying her new life.

She loves joining Dr. KC on his cow-checking excursions and getting cozy with the family dogs. The Grandkids were thrilled to meet Polly today and it's evident she's going to bring immense happiness into their lives. Happy Adoption Day Polly, you hit the jackpot.

Pokey is approximately 8-9 months old and weighs 36 lbs. She is currently at the vet getting spayed and will be available at the shelter after her recovery. Thanksgiving is for family, and Annie found her forever family today. The Mommas have been through a lot together; they were dumped near the shelter while pregnant. After dodging traffic for days, we caught these scared ladies, and two days later, they delivered 15 puppies between them. Momma 2 was trapped in a live trap, while Momma 1 was hit by a car, resulting in irreparable nerve damage that led to the amputation of her left front leg. Now it's their turn to find the loving home they deserve. They are independent of each other and do not need to be adopted together. Both are sweethearts with lots of love to give; they are mixed-breed, medium-sized dogs weighing less than 50 pounds. The dogs are absolutely thriving in this weather, and their playtime with staff is pure joy! Watch Marley shine! As the last remaining puppy from the Mommas who blessed the shelter with 15 adorable bundles of puppy breath, Marley's spirit is truly resilient. Marley was originally Puppy 11, adopted to a great mom, however it didn’t work out and she was returned. Marley now seeks a forever haven. Let's rally together to give Marley the loving home she so deeply deserves. #zoomiesaresofun

Please consider adopting a shelter pet and remember to make sure that your pet has ID at all times, such as a collar with name and phone number, rabies tag, and micro-chipping. Our ultimate goal would be to keep an empty shelter and for everyone to know the joy of having a loving pet in their lives!

Donations to Partners for the Cuba Pound provides hope where help is needed. It is a private, non-profit fund that allows for donation of money and goods to benefit the Cuba Animal Control (CAC) facility. Although Partners works closely with CAC, these funds are not connected to any city accounts or funds. Partners also fosters volunteerism and adoptions through Cuba, MO Animal Control. All donations to Partners for the Cuba Pound are tax deductible.
