Post update - Blackjack's wish came true - he has a home for the holidays!
Wish I didn't have to spend Thanksgiving in the pet shelter - but if I do at least I know I will be well cared for this weekend at Pet Adoptions of Cuero. They named me BLACKJACK and I am a male, a whole mix of fluffy dog breeds, super social and up to date on shots and microchipped. I like other small dogs my size and humans - yes I really like humans that will keep me as a mainly inside dog. Yes I can go out to p*e but I just got groomed and I do not want to be outside with burrs and getting sticky stuff in my fur. Your lap, a nice dog bed or a corner to cuddle up in will be my cup of tea. Come see me at PAOC, 407 US Highway 183 South, Cuero any day from 8 till noon.

Please someone come to the rescue of JOJO and MARCY! Or please share or pass on this post. These 2 sweeties have just lost their forever pet parent and need to find a new homestead. Trying our best to help so they can go from their original home to a new loving one without that pit stop in a noisy shelter. This is a courtesy post - they are not currently at Pet Adoptions of Cuero but we can arrange a meet and greet at PAOC. They are both small canines that are seniors - so a SENIOR human would be the perfect parent replacement. JOJO is a 9 year old black fluffy terrier mix that weighs 15 pounds. Little MARCY is a sweet black and tan 3 year old chihuahua weighing all of 10 pounds. They only know life together - and adopting as a pair sure helps with the transition too. They are totally indoor dogs, piddle pad trained, don't like cats but up to date on shots. PAOC will sponsor their spays. Call today for more info 361-243-8550 - remember small dogs get snapped up sooooo fast!

Question: What weighs 650 pounds and will be a blessing to a non profit pet shelter with its current TRIPLE capacity inventory of homeless dogs and cats? ITS THIS AMAZING DONATION OF PET FOOD FROM THE Cuero GVEC!!! Yes they did it again - GVEC keeps finding more ways to help local non profits. Pet Adoptions of Cuero was honored to be designated for their recent pet food drive. GVEC Cuero staffers Priscilla Pedraza, Kellie Stanfill and Christie Guajardo lent a helping hand to PAOC staffer Kyle Eakin in loading up the PAOC van. Love and appreciation goes out to the GVEC customers, staff, employees and management who contributed. Thank you to all in the GVEC community for caring and sharing!

Help - I am one very sad, lost or misplaced adult female tabby. I have been hanging out at the Cuero City shelter and now I am at Pet Adoptions of Cuero. I am super social, just dying for some human attention and I hope someone in the Cuero or Dewitt County, Texas area is MISSING ME!!!! I want to go home and be with my family. Please come claim me or maybe someone new needs a cat companion like me? Just come on down to PAOC and adopt me. Just ask for NIKKI - the moniker I am using right now.
The PAOC shelter is located at 407 US Highway 183 South, Cuero and we are open from 8 am to 12 noon every day - yes every day of the year!!! 361-243-8550

Everyone says it is so nice to live in a small town but it's even better to live in a small town that "cares". Pet Adoptions of Cuero has been a big fan of the Artisan Market Days on Main held once a month from March to October in the event created by the Main Street director, Sandra Osman. Our presence at the event has brought us lots of adoptions and new visitors from inside and outside Cuero. Our final appearance for 2025 was this October. We were honored by a major donation from the many exhibitors and small companies who participate regularly to help our non profit pet rescue and shelter. As an extra bonus many pitched in to create a raffle basket and again the proceeds were given to PAOC. Want to thank Sandra for creating this "on the spot" fundraiser and the many who donated or bought raffle tickets. Sending puppy kisses and kitty hugs to everyone for this wonderful support.

They say every cat has 9 lives - and just looking at OTTO - you can tell he's already used up quite a few! This super affectionate male arrived skin and bones and is now on the mend with meds for his sores, nutrition, shots, flea treatment etc. He is negative for feline lukemia. OTTO is definitely a senior feline with very few teeth but has no problem enjoying pate type cat foods. Because of our over crowded cat rooms we have had to house him in one of our largest wire kennels - but we can tell this boy wants a lap, windowsill or cosey curl up bed to enjoy. We're looking for a foster or adopter. PAOC will provide all meds and food - let's just get OTTO - OUT OF Here. Please come and meet him at Pet Adoptions of Cuero, 407 US Highway 183 South, Cuero - open every day of the year from 8am till 12 noon or call for a late afternoon visit 361-243-8550
