Hi! I'm Wendy Ewing. A lot of people might remember me from the Lawton PetSmart but my training didn't begin there. I started off training horses with positive reinforcement methods as a young girl around 9 years old. I moved on from there to train dog, cats, foxes, and pigs. Yes, I said foxes and pigs but that's a story all its own. (Ask me in person sometime!) Training dogs started out as a hobby as a child and grew to become a passion.
In 2014, I accepted the dog trainer position with PetSmart and I absolutely, positively loved my job and the company! I got to hang out with dogs of all ages while teaching their parents how to open the lines of communication with them! What better job could their be in retail, right?
In 2018, I decided to leave PetSmart to pursue me dream of starting my own training business with my husband, William. His father was a military dog trainer so he grew up with training being a part of life, just like I had. We both share a passion for helping animals which made it a perfect choice!
Current, in 2020, we have partnered The Pooch Palace so we can offer Group Classes! We chose The Pooch Palace because of their passion and love for animals. It is a match made in heaven and can’t be happier about our decision to hold classes exclusive with this facility! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us all!
We love what we do and I believe it shows. There is no better feeling than watching a dog and its parent(s), who both walked in unsure and confused, leave with confidence and a closer bond! So many dogs are abandoned, surrendered, and euthanized everyday because their families didn't want to take the time to teach them how to coexist with their household. Think about it. We are asking an animal, who can't speak our language, to understand what we require of them to become a member of our families. Don't we owe it to them to teach them what that means? With Positive Reinforcement, you are paying them to learn what we require. Whether it be with treats, toys, play, or simply praise and love, they deserve appreciation for their efforts and eagerness to learn. Our ultimate goal is to help pets and theirs families Restore Tranquility in their homes through Positive Reinforcement Methods.
