Winter Wonder Land? Griz had the opportunity to play in the snow the past couple days. He thoroughly enjoys his time outside no matter the weather!

Griz to the rescue! Griz helped out a local hunter today who needed help on a water retrieve. When Griz fetched it up we saw it had a band! Smiles all around. Good job Griz.

Near freezing temps today in Virginia and we even had a bit of snow. Griz was hot to go though as he got in some work at Shady Grove Kennel in Re*****on.

Griz, a dog of letters. Griz can officially add TC(1) to his list of accomplishments for 2024. We shall see what 2025 looks like. Good luck to all this hunting season and have a great holiday season.

Griz and Jersey bid farewell to their 7 month old friend Rome who returns to Feather Point Retrievers where she will begin her formal bird dog training. Rome has grown from a little 6 pond chocolate drop to a 40 pound fearless and spirited young dog who I predict great things for. We will be seeing her progress during our trips to Feather Point. You go girl! ,

Reunion Time - Griz made a return visit today to say hi to Neil Selby. Neil helped us get Griz off to a great start with his obedience and initial bird dog training before heading to Feather Point Retrievers . Griz saw "the table" and seemed a little nervous at first. That only lasted a couple seconds and it was all smiles for Griz and Neil.

Griz qualified at another AKC Master Hunter test. He has 4 passes now and needs one more for his Master Hunter title. This time the test was in SC. It was a busy year and we met a lot of nice people and saw some amazing well trained dogs in our travels. Now it's time to take a break from Hunt Tests and spend some time at home and afield hunting. Thank you Feather Point Retrievers for all you have done in training and caring for Griz.

Griz is home! We are glad to have Griz home and he has been enjoying his introduction to young Rome. 3 Labs at home for now. Going to be fun.

Hunt Test Season Finale. Griz scored his 4th AKC Master pass this weekend in Cheraw, S.C. it was a very successful year and Griz is returning home and hopefully enjoy some relaxing time at home and hunting.

Griz gets closer - Griz picked up his third Master AKC pass this weekend. This time he go to play in his own backyard at Shady Grove Kennels in Re*****on. Temps were cool for the first time this Fall and the tests involved water in all three series. Griz, shook it off though and he and handler, Blake Haddock, navigated a challenging test. Griz spent a few days at home and will be running another test next weekend in SC. Thanks to the Blue Ridge Retriever Club, the Judges and all the other folks it takes to put the test on. , ,

Griz happy to be back in the Winner's Circle after last weekend's APLA test at sunny Feather Pointy Retrievers in Greenville, NC. Griz returns to the AKC circuit this weekend.
