At a young age I was surrounded by all different kinds of animals. Dogs, Cats, Birds and Farm Animals. I am a HUGE animal lover! During high school I use to pet sit for friends and family when they we
nt away on vacation or a business trip. After I graduated from high school I moved to Culpeper, VA and went straight into pet grooming. It has always been a passion of mine to work with animals. I graduated from a pet grooming school in Virginia called Canine Clippers School of Pet Grooming. I will admit it was hard work but I never hated what I was doing. I worked long and hard to get where I am today. Looking into getting my certification soon. About Business: I started my home pet grooming business in 2015. I have built a beautiful salon in my home that way your pet will get more of a home vibe rather then a busy shop.

Next week will make me 35 weeks pregnant, and time has surely flown by. Also, next week will be my last week of work.
I would also like to mention, especially if you weren't around during my first pregnancy, that my first son, Eddie, was born between my 35th and 36th weeks of pregnancy. So there is a 50/50 chance it might happen again. If you are scheduled during next week, just keep that in mind. ❤️

Puppy post! 🥰
Willow came in for her 2nd puppy intro, and she did very well. I introduced her to shaved pads, eye corners, and sanitary areas. I also trimmed around her feet and eyes. She was confused and curious about the new things but did an excellent job. 💜
Welcome Wrecker to the grooming pack! He came in for his 1st pup intro and did amazingly for a first-timer! We introduced nails, ear cleaning, a bath, blow-drying, and brushing. He did have a spicy Pom moment with ear cleaning and brushing, but he soon warmed up to it. Pomeranians are known for their spice, so it wasn't a shock. Other than that, he was such a love bug and enjoyed being snuggled the entire time. 💙

I had the pleasure of introducing this litter of Cavaliers to their first professional spa day! There were five girls and three boys, so it was definitely a lot of work, but the puppy snuggles made up for it. Thanks to their breeder introducing them to at-home grooming early on, they did well for their first time. The only scary things were the water spray and noisy blow dryer, but they all soon warmed up to them after seeing they were no threat. Plus, I was giving them tons of kisses and snuggles throughout. My heart was full of puppy love by the end of it, and it was well needed! 💖🐾

When I say spa days make the elderly pooches feel better, I mean it! Just look at Buster's after picture, that's all you need to see if you want to know if your pooch enjoyed their pamper session! He even runs and jumps around like he's a little puppy again. 💖🐾

She came in for a much needed spa day today after having a not so good experience elsewhere. She was so scared, anxious, and nervous over everything. It was so sad to see a dog feel that way towards something that's supposed to be a pleasant experience. Even tho she was feeling that way, she was still such a sweet girl. It took a ton of patience and lots of cuddles/rubs to get through it all. She definitely has the potential to overcome this fear with time. I am looking forward to working with this adorable fluff ball and watching her become a spa day princess! 💖🐾

Oskar came in for a much needed spa day today! He knew right away, Ms. Ellie was going to fix him up. He went from greasey and scruffy to clean and trimmed. He definitely got the full works. I've been pampering this boy since he was a little pup, and now it's already been 3 years! Time definitely goes by fast! Always love seeing my boy prance around like the king he is after getting spruced up! 💖🐾

Today, she came in for her first ever puppy intro groom and did pretty well for it! She was a little nervous in the beginning, but by the end of it, she felt more comfortable. She especially loved all the snuggles, Ms. Ellie gave her throughout. Willow's owner is definitely setting up her little princess up for success! 💖🐾

When it rains, Bodhi gets a spa day! This warm weather definitely has him shedding like crazy so he definitely needed a good deshed to get all that dead coat out. You could have made two, maybe even three French Bulldogs with all that fur!! He left feeling a whole lot better, getting all that out. Plus, he looks absolutely stunning as well! 💖🐾

Have you ever wondered how does deshed shampoo and conditioner work? Does it make your dog shed more/less? Let's talk about it!
First, let's start with what fur is shedding off and why: 📖
A dog’s fur helps control their body temperature and protects their skin against the sun and other environmental elements.
When a dog’s hair stops growing, they will naturally lose it by shedding.
The amount and frequency of shedding will depend on several factors, including:
• A dog’s health condition(stress, skin issues, allergies)
• A dog’s breed(single or double layer of fur)
• Season and environment
• Dogs also rid themselves of damaged hair by shedding it, too.
Now let's talk about deshed products: 🫧
Deshed shampoo/conditioner doesn't make a dog shed more or less, mother nature does. Via heat, hormones, and length of day.
The act of shampooing/conditioning and the warm water is what makes the dead coat that is ready to be released from the body, exit the body easier.
There is no ✨️magical✨️ chemical in the shampoo or the conditioner that alters mother nature. So, no, deshed products do not make your dog shed more or less. They are formulated to help release ready to leave dead coat off your dog.
After the dog is completely clean and given deshed shampoo/conditioner, the dead coat is able to slip out easily using proper tools such as a high volume blow dryer and a slicker brush or rake.
But why is deshedding your dog important?: 🤔
Removing this excess fur helps promote good blood flow to their skin and prevent any skin diseases or infections that may arise from debris being stuck in the fur. This is a completely normal part of the grooming process and is 100% painless.
In conclusion, deshed products are here to help remove ready to leave dead coats and not made to alter your dog's shedding in any way. If you have a dog that's prone to lots of shedding or has a hard time releasing it's dead coat, be sure you add deshed treatments to your dog's spa day! Your dog will definitely thank you! 💖🐾

The Pennell duo got their well needed spa days! Both are Cavapoos, but they both have different looks and personalities. They both definitely got the sweet nature Cavalier in them, at least! I can't believe I've been grooming these two since they were little pups. They've grown into such amazing dogs for grooming, and they make me so proud! 💖🐾

If you haven't already heard, I'M PREGNANT!! 👶❤️
We found out yesterday how far along I am and got a due date of September 30th.
Unfortunately this pregnancy has been kicking my butt with symptoms. Due to this I had to redo my whole schedule so I am only doing one dog a day and won't be grooming dogs over 30lbs after April. I will be fully closed from September 16th 2024 to January 1st 2025 so I can get ready for labor then be on maternity leave.
My schedule is very limited at the moment so if you are unable to book with me I have been referring everyone to check out Lora's Paws Only or Send Rover Over. They are both located in culpeper and are amazing groomers! Also if you need me to send you my grooming notes on what your pooch typically receives here, I'll be happy to that information over for you so you can have that for them. 😊

Welcome Bensen back, everyone! ❤️ After his run away experience, he is definitely still healing physically and mentally over it. Before Besen absolutely loved getting pampered, but now he is very skittish and scared of everything. I went very slow with everything but eventually had to cut his grooming short because he was becoming way too stressed, and I made a professional decision stop his groom. Unfortunately, when our dogs run away and are out in the wild for a long time by themselves, they go into survival mode. So it will take some time to get back to normalcy for Bensen. He is still the sweetest boy, and I know he feels so much better after getting all cleaned up! Love ya Bensen and I'm so happy you're back home safe! 💖🐾
When you gotta go, you gotta go! 😅 For elderly pooches, their bladders aren't what they use to be so if they have to go, I just tell them to let it rip. 🤣❤️ Who else would hold your dogs tail up while they take a poop? 😉 Luxury service at its finest! 🥰 (Knocked poop off so he wouldn't step in it then picked it up and washed my hands/table, of course.)
