Someone be Billy’s Valentine ❣️

Billy the Kit has been at the shelter since he was surrendered in December 2023, over one year ago! The time is taking a toll on sweet Billy; he has a chronic upper respiratory from enduring the stress of shelter life. Billy dreams of living in a home where he can be loved and cared for by his forever family. He is laid-back and enjoys taking rides on shoulders or snuggling up in laps. An often overlooked kitty, Billy is one of our most loving adoptable cats. Please share to help him find his perfect someone.

A love letter from Hunter 💕:

Hello! My name is Hunter, and I spent Valentine’s Day alone. Maybe you did too? That’s okay! I’ve already started making plans for next year. Next Valentine’s Day, I’m going to be in a warm home, on a soft couch. I’m going to watch rom-coms with you and share your popcorn. I’ll spend the night curled up in your bed. In happy and sad times, I’ll be there. A gentle paw on your lap, a tennis ball in my mouth to make you smile. Let’s be best friends forever! Come see me today at the shelter.

Join us tomorrow, February 15th at 1:30 pm for dog walking orientation. 🐾

Adoption Pending

Captain America had a lot of interest on Saturday, but sadly no one put in an application for him. He is still available for adoption and would make a fantastic addition to your home.

A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers, and everyone who came out today!

ACAS - A Shelter of Hope

The Allegany County Animal Shelter is the first and only one of two No-Kill municipal shelters in the state of Maryland and is run by the ACAS Management Foundation. We are a 501C3, non-profit organization. The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as a “Shelter of Hope” for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of Allegany County. We strive to expand and strengthen our leadership in animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs and to find common-sense solutions for animal-related problems in our community.
