Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Today our hearts are full. A huge thank you to our incredible rescue partners, FOACAS, for stepping in and giving three of our Great Danes the first step toward their forever futures.

We’re so grateful for the collaboration, compassion, and teamwork that make moments like this possible. Here’s to new beginnings for these gentle giants!

🌟 Pixie’s Transformation Story 🌟

When Pixie arrived at our shelter in August, this five-year-old girl was terrified, shut down, and angry. Our vet believes she had been abused, and her behavior reflected that pain—she growled, showed every tooth she had, and wouldn’t let anyone near her.

But Pixie’s story didn’t end there. 💛

With time, patience, and consistency, she slowly began to trust our shelter manager. Then, little by little, she allowed a few more of us into her world. And once Pixie loves you… she LOVES you. Hard. This sweet girl has shown us just how big her heart truly is.

Pixie now sits, shakes, plays a mean game of fetch, and absolutely melts for b***y scratches and snuggles. She’s blossomed into a dog who just wants to be close to her people and feel safe.

Pixie will need someone willing to go at her pace. Multiple meet-and-greets will help her build trust and feel comfortable before heading home, but let us tell you, this girl is worth every bit of patience. ❤️

If you’re the kind soul ready to love Pixie the way she deserves, we’d love to introduce you.

Meet Daisy Mae! 💛🐾
This sweet older gal came to us as a stray from Green Ridge and, sadly, was never reclaimed. Now she’s hoping her second chance is right around the corner.

At 70+ pounds of pure love, Daisy Mae is the definition of a gentle soul. She’s calm, affectionate, and simply wants a soft spot to land and someone to love her back.

If you’ve been looking for a loyal companion with a heart as big as her smile, Daisy Mae just might be your girl. Come meet her and let her show you how special she truly is. 🐶💕

Meet Arya! 💗✨
This sweet girl was picked up as a stray, and heartbreakingly, no one came looking for her. But what we did find is a gentle, loving soul who is so ready for a fresh start.

Arya has the kindest eyes, a soft spirit, and a heart full of hope. 🐾

Now she just needs one thing: a family who sees her, chooses her, and never lets her go again.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and grateful companion… Arya is waiting. 💕

A short message of gratitude from the Executive Director....

My morning started early~turkey in the oven and then straight to the shelter. By the time I arrived, most of my staff had been there since before sunrise, ensuring every animal had breakfast and a clean, comfortable kennel to start their day. Volunteers were jumping in to help walk dogs, clean crates, and provide care to our cats. The teamwork was so heart-warming.

Our management team covered the afternoon shift, and our shelter manager, Becky Shreve, prepared a full Thanksgiving feast for the animals (check out the videos in comments to see their excitement), and one of our animal control officers, James Lee Sr., helped serve the meals while our other officer, Jann Bean, was out responding to calls.

I’m incredibly grateful for our staff and volunteers. Their dedication and compassion for our animals never waver. I’m also deeply thankful for the overwhelming outpouring of kindness and support from our amazing community over the past month. Your generosity has truly humbled me, and I am bursting with gratitude.

Happy Thankgiving!

💙 Thank You to Cash Valley Elementary! 💙

Our hearts are absolutely overflowing today! Cash Valley Elementary went above and beyond, delivering a collection of food, blankets, treats, and supplies for our animals.

The love and kindness poured into this donation truly shines, especially seeing the adorable student made posters and bios they created for our shelter pets. Knowing that young hearts are learning compassion and empathy for animals gives us so much hope for the future.

From every wagging tail, every purr, and every grateful staff member here at ACAS, thank you. Your support means the world to us and makes a real, immediate difference in the lives of the animals who need us most.

Cash Valley Elementary, you made our day brighter. 💛🐾

🎉 A HUGE Thank You to Bel Air Elementary School! 🎉

We are so grateful to the amazing students and staff at Bel Air Elementary for raising an incredible $1,900 to help provide food for the cats and dogs in our care! Your generosity makes such a meaningful difference for our animals. 🐾💛

We loved visiting your school, talking with your students about our shelter pets, and getting the chance to read one of our favorite adoption stories with them. We hope they enjoyed the cupcakes as much as we enjoyed spending time with them! 🧁😊

A special shout-out to Mrs. McKenzie's and Mrs. Miller’s classrooms for raising the most money—your hard work and kindness truly shine. 🌟

Thank you, Bel Air Elementary, for supporting our animals and for teaching compassion in such a big way. We can’t wait to visit again!
