Pictures of the classrooms that raised the most donations in November!

Nurturing Nature in November.
"The definition of Nurturing is the act of caring for and encouraging the growth and development of someone or something by supporting or by fostering!

Also, the month of November always extends to our hearts what we are thankful for in our lives. We are definitely thankful for the care you give to all of the homeless animals you have taken in there at the shelter! All of you are amazing to be able to show the animals love and companionship!
It has been our pleasure to know that all of our students and staff have made a difference in helping the shelter and supplying a large donation of $1,176.44!!"

Thank you, Bel Air Elementary!!!

Cumberland Freemasons Observe Giving Tuesday with Gifts to Local Charities

As part of on December 3, three Masonic Lodges that meet at the Cumberland Masonic Temple presented a total of $11,890 in donations to five local charities. The donations were part of a statewide giving campaign by Masonic Charities of Maryland that distributed a total of $212,000 to 89 charities.

As part of the campaign, local lodges in every Maryland county and the City of Baltimore designated local, non-Masonic affiliated charities to receive a portion of the funds. The three Cumberland lodges – Potomac Lodge No.100 AF&AM, Queen City Lodge No. 131, and East Gate Lodge No. 216 – designated the Allegany County Animal Shelter to receive $3,650, the Wamba Caravan No. 89’s Hooley Plunge to receive $1,425, Friends Aware to receive $2,275, Family Crisis Resource Center (FCRC) to receive $2,275, and the Children’s Adaptive Sports League (CASL) to receive $2,225.

Charity is a virtue that is important to Masons. Local lodges and Masonic organizations including the Cumberland Scottish Rite Foundation, McKinley Chapter No. 12 Order of the Eastern Star, the Cumberland York Rite Bodies, Ali Ghan Shriners, Algonquin Forest No. 140 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Cumberland Chapter Order of Demolay for Boys, and Cumberland Assembly No. 6 International Order of Rainbow for Girls contribute significant funding and volunteer service to a broad range of local and national charitable causes every year.

More information about the contributions of Masonic organizations in the local community and how to get involved is available at Cumberland Masonic Temple or by contacting the Cumberland Masonic Temple office at [email protected].
