The Humane Hearts Team is sad to post the passing of long time Humane Hearts Therapy Dog Pepper. Pepper, a sweet labradoodle, was 15. She with handler/mom Kay Knight became a Therapy team in 2013, and had been a loyal volunteer team all these 11 years making nearly 200 volunteer visits during this time. They volunteered for specials events, visits to Lambert High, Creative Solutions, several assisted living homes, but more recently a constant visitor at Antebellum on James Burguess.. where the residents loved her.

Pepper… well done!!, what a full life.. thanks for your contributions to the community.
You will be missed.

Teddy joined the Humane Hearts team in Oct 2021... and quickly found a 'home' visiting Sugar Hill Elementary.. now he is a Rock Star, visiting classes, special reading time in the library with students, being a 'reward' for students for 'hugs time'. He even makes the school year book. It was Tuesdays with Teddy at Sugar Hill Elementary. See how special he is with the mom's/handlers story:

Today was our first day back to Sugar Hill Elementary for the 2024/25 school year. Over the summer they repainted and redecorated the building. One of the cool new things they did was design a timeline wall, beginning in 1905 when SHE was a one-room schoolhouse, and moving to the present. Imagine our delight to see the year 2022 below. We’re on the timeline! Brought tears to my eyes! You’ll have to see the whole wall. It’s amazing.
