We have been experiencing some rather vulgar and relentless comments on many of our posts. We are saddened that the choices of others have affected our ability to find animals homes, but we will not continue to allow our friends and followers be subject to such trash. Thank you for the support over the years. We are hopeful that at some point we will be able to continue making a positive impact.

We’ve been keeping a little secret, just so we didn’t jinx it😆 Kiwi went into foster a couple weeks ago and is making herself quite cozy❤️
We could not understand for the life of us what the hold up was finding her a family, as she is such a special girl! Finally, after a whole freaking year, her people came along🎉
Thank you, Amy and Alaina, for giving our girl a chance. We love her so much and knew she would prove her worth eventually❤️

A generous donor has sponsored the adoption fees for Dobby, Olive, and Trace! These three were adopted as puppies and have all been returned in the past couple of weeks.
Dobby and Olive came from the same home, but do not need to be adopted together. Their mama is trying to make arrangements to get them back, so even a temporary foster would be amazing❤️ She does understand that if a fabulous adopter comes along, that getting them back into a loving home is priority.
Trace was also adopted as a puppy and turned a year old in May. He is a no go with chickens😬 He is a big boy and was raised with children; however does get excited and may knock little ones over.
Our application can be found at www.forpittiessakerescue.org🐾
Please share to help us get these pups into homes, as kennel life is not what they are used to😭

Giardia in dogs is a protozoal infection that can be hard to clear. Giardia cysts can survive for quite some time require extra sanitation.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday, what you are and your pups doing this weekend?!
If you are still looking for someone sweet to hang out with on summer days,, we have wonderful dogs always looking for for their forever familes, like our girl Kiwi!!

Kiwi is someone's heart dog. She is the sweetest girl with the most expressive eyes. Kiwi is good for the soul.. she has nothing but positive energy.❤️
Kiwi arrived in the fall of 2023 and we thought she would be scooped right up. She raised great puppies and they all were adopted into loving homes. Now it's her turn for a family. If you think Kiwi is the girl for you, please head over to www.forpittiessakerescue.org🐾

Can you relate? 🤷🏻♀️

Welcome back, Olive and Dobby fka Pedro! Not the greatest photos, we know… there were treats involved, I only have two hands, and patience with me was wearing thin as you can see on Dobby’s face😂 He has no time for my antics, however Olive enjoyed herself🎉
As we are trying so hard to get dogs out of rescue and into homes, times are rough and dogs are being returned. We are grateful that Olive and Dobby’s mom brought them back to us, but these pups are used to living in a home and we are hoping to get them back into a home or homes very quickly!
They are pretty well rounded and can live with cats, dogs, and children. Their mama sent all of their supplies with them as well.
Please share these sweet pups and help us get them right back into a home❤️

It’s Fajita’s turn! This beauty is an older girl, around 6-8 years old. She has been so much fun with us, but deserves to be in a home.
Fajita arrived with some mammary masses and received surgery to remove them. She has healed up nicely and acts like nothing ever happened.
Fajita has done well with nice dogs, unsure of cats. Please help share our sweet Fajita and let’s get her a family🐾

It’s Darla’s turn! Darla is an incredibly sweet, fun puppy. She is around 6-8 months old and ready for a family!
Darla has been seen by our vet, and Animal Eye Care due to her wonky eyes. She is blind, but it truly does not slow her down! She would do best with another dog in the home who can help her navigate. Darla is very good at figuring out the lay of the land and using her other senses to get around safely.
You cannot go wrong with Darla! She’s an amazing puppy🐾

These two sweet, well rounded pups are still looking for a home! We would love for them to go together, however at this point it’s pretty desperate.. please share and help us find a home, temporary or permanent🐾

Next up is Ivy! Ivy arrived the same day as MeMe, back in January, 2021.
When Ivy arrived, she was very thin, timid, and unsure of herself. Once Ivy settled in to the routine, she blossomed and became outgoing, playful, and confident. We feel like Ivy is regressing and would love to get her into a home soon!
Ivy is deaf, but looks to her person for cues. She thrives on routine and knowing what to expect. Ivy has done well with other dogs and we are unsure of cats. Please share and help us find Ivy a family as she deserves🐾

Kiwi and Fajita approve of the generous donation of new balls from Pet Supplies Plus - Elizabeth City, NC! We are grateful to PSP for always helping us keep our dogs happy. If you haven’t met Amber and her team, you are missing out❤️

Up first is our second longest resident, MeMe! She has been with us since January, 2021. You may ask why such a beautiful girl is still with us and we are not going to sugar coat it…
MeMe needs a unicorn home. She has been in the yard with Callie (our longest resident), with no issues, but we think that is because they are so much alike. They can coexist with another dog, but they prefer to be independent. She is also a bit much for small children. MeMe has not been around cats that we are aware of, so unsure how that would go.
If you know anyone that is looking for a loyal, beautiful, smart, older girl, MeMe is the girl for them! We know there has to be someone who can appreciate an independent girl! Can you help us find them for MeMe?

Millie’s mom checked in with us today to let us know that Millie is living her best life❤️ Her wait was way too long, but this makes it all worth while!

We have an important announcement to make and hope that y’all will help us achieve our goal!
The FPS family has a very special event coming up which requires us to travel, as a family. We have not been away from our home together, with the exception of a couple out of state adoption events, since before we started this journey nearly 10 years ago.
For now, we will not be accepting new intakes unless we have a foster home lined up. We also would love to get our current dogs adopted or in foster homes! This is where you come in… all of our dogs are vaccinated, altered, and microchipped. We do have a few special needs, but nothing that is super difficult.
We will begin posting each dog and would be so grateful if you would share each and every one. Even if you are not in a position to foster, someone on your friends list may be. Thank you in advance❤️🐾

Sweet Micco is getting so big! She is another one of Sonyas puppies. We are so thankful for our wonderful adopters! They even send us awesome updates!

Another one of Reece's puppies, Otter, looks like he's enjoying the snow! We have the best adopters.

The Grinch is hanging out at Pet Supplies Plus - Elizabeth City, NC waiting to see all the naughty and nice pets for photos! We will be here until four today and again tomorrow from 1 to 4. 🎄
Sweet baby Olive is exercising, trying to get her front legs strong and straight! Upon arrival she showed signs of lack of proper nutrition, such as: poor coat and flaky skin, her toenails were solid white instead of being clear, and her front legs were noticeably crooked and bowed out. We started her on a vitamin supplement, high quality food, monthly preventatives, and gave her vaccines. She is a happy, good natured, laid back puppy! She plays well with the other dogs, but can also entertain herself😂 If you are interested in Olive, our application can be found at www.forpittiesssakerescue.org🐾
Buster is wanting to play so badly! Lupe is the perfect helper/tester dog, he has a calming presence and welcomes every single dog/puppy that comes through our doors❤️
Carter playing peekaboo! He’s such a great puppy. Carter had a vet visit Monday, as his little legs were a bit wonky. With vitamins, supervised play, good food, and crate rest, he is getting stronger and should be ready to go home soon! We have an approved application for this cutie and are super hopeful that it’s a good fit❤️
Sometimes it takes a long time for the perfect adopters to come along. That was the case for Lady, but she is now living her best life! Patience and persistence paid off. We love Lady and miss seeing her beautiful face daily, but this is what it’s all about. We can’t can’t keep them all, however we can be part of their journey❤️
