A huge shoutout to our students who did an AMAZING job with their booths and leadership! I’m so proud of them for getting the job done today. They are fantastic and I couldn’t be prouder!

Thank you to Currituck Farm Bureau for their donation of bags for the 3rd graders, the book “Farm Boots” and a lesson plan for each teacher, and a bookmark for each 3rd grader. Thank you to John Deere for donating pencils for each student bag and Case iH for their donation of stickers for each student bag. Thank you NC Farm Bureau for donating ABCs of agricultural book marks.

Thank you Duncan and Son Farms for sharing equipment for us to use for the day.

Thank you to the staff at the Rural Center for all their help and assistance with having a smooth running day.

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Jessica Brick in our transportation department who facilitates the buses for ag day and to all the drivers who transport our 3rd graders to CCRC for Digging into Ag Day!

We had a GREAT day at COA for Regional Rally. We are so proud of our students for all the time and work they have put into preparing for today’s competitions.

🥇William Crodick placed 1st in Employability Skills

🥈Carsyn Sawyer placed 2nd in Prepared Public Speaking

🥇Forestry Team (Zoey Hartman, Tate Etheridge, Jeremiah Culley and Micayla Smiley) placed 1st. Jeremiah was also the regions highest scoring individual.

🥉Agricultural Mechanics Team (Logan Hunt, Aiden Flemming, Wyatt Cooper, and Gabe Stephens) placed 3rd.

🥇Floriculture Team (McKenzie Hundley, Aubree Scott, Elijah Asuelo Muniz, and Cheyenne Manning) placed 1st.

Our Introduction to Horticulture Team did a great job in their competition today. We didn’t place in that event but we are so proud of the team for their participation.

Our Forestry, Ag Mechanics, and Floriculture Teams along with Will and Carsyn will be advancing to the state competition in June. Please wish them luck as they prepare for their competitions! Thank you!

We were also recognized for winnings in previously held events:
🥇 Our Horse Judging team was 1st in the Region and Carsyn Sawyer was the highest scoring individual.

🥇 Amber Jones won first place in the Region for Truck Driving

It’s that time of year again!! If you are interested in running for an FFA Office next school year please get an officer application from Mr. Kovacs or Mrs. Duncan when we return from Spring Break!

Applications and all materials are due to Mr. Kovacs by April 23rd and interviews will be April 26th immediately following the early release in the Ag Building. Students interviewing should wear official dress or dress up for interviews.

It was a GREAT weekend at MEGA Conference in Greensboro. Will attended Spring Training Sessions this weekend and was able to share his learnings at the closing session today. On the way back to Currituck we stopped in Nash County to visit a family farm that grows greenhouse strawberries and we learned about their processes. May we always be

These two individuals will advance to the Regional Competition in April!
